I am passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle...SO much depends on it! Eating "clean" and exercise are daily routines. A big element of this success is being "authentic". Acknowledging my weight on a scale on a (somewhat) daily basis is a step toward accepting who I am and what all those mental health professionals tell us we must learn to do first: Love yourself. I know that struggle, the love-hate relationship with the scale, and have FINALLY come to realize and accept in my soul that "it's only a tool, it's only a number; it's not who I am; it's only one facet of the person I am." This definitely takes a re-wiring of the brain circuitry. Learning the skills to improve my emotional intelligence has been life-changing and the key to that genuine smile on my face! I hope to pass on these skills and encourage others in any way I am able. Thanks for visiting my page!

My Goals:
My primary goal is to be healthy. I've reached my goal weight, so now my challenge is to maintain it.
My Program:
2018 update: I've discovered the key for me! Since Oct 1, I practice Time Restricted Eating. I fast from 6 pm until noon, eat lunch and then fast until dinner. Gave up sweetner and creamer in coffee, and rarely eat grains, dairy, processed goods because they do not produce satiety. "Hormonal model" rather than "calories in/calories out" or "energy balance" model is THE secret the food industry, big Pharma, Sugar lobbyists, diet industry has kept from us, because there's no money to be made from fasting. Dr. Jason Fung exposes and explains this. I've lost 5% body fat and gained lean muscle mass in two months. I feel WONDERFUL!!
2011:
My eating plan follows the Dukan diet - high protein and low carbs.
My typical exercise week:
Every day warm up with 30 min of treadmill or eliptical.
Monday: 60 min Dynamic (Art of Strength) strength training
Tuesday: 60 min Intensity (Crossfit) class
Wed: 60 min Dynamic (AOS) ST class
Thurs: Walk with friend and puppy dogs, hilly t
Personal Information:
Other Information:
I am loving Crossfit, the challenge -- to my weight lifting abilities, to my stamina, and the camaraderie -- working out with my DH, my friends who are on similar level with me and those experienced crossfitters who inspire me!
