I have been on and off of plan for 2 years. My derailment started when my BFF and I went on a cruise for our 50th birthdays with 14 ladies, 8 of us celebrating our 50th that year. I am truly an emotional eater and a lot of family drama has happened over the last 2years and continues with my youngest announcing she was pregnant - due in February. Her life is in turmoil constantly, and now I worry about her bringing a new person Into this world, but I need to get back to ME. The next 2 years will come regardless, so it's time I make a difference in how I come out on the other end.

Update 8/5/13
The last 10 months I have been doing things half-way. Either my nutrition is good or my exercise is good. That's not working to get the 15 lbs I gained over the last 10 months back off.
I've done a lot of soul searching and my goal for the rest of 2013 is to get those pesky 15 lbs back off and start 2014 on the way to losing more...
I am one of those many emotional eaters - and drinkers LOL - I love a glass of wine at the end of a terrible day. However, the wine turns into grazing for me! This weekend will be a turning point - some very heavy emotional eating triggers will be over with. I look forward to updating my page in Sept with many positive results.

Hi all -- I've been on SP since Feb 2012 and this is the first program that I haven't felt like a failure, even when my weight loss hasn't been consistent.
Life stuff got in the way of my progress for the last 5 months, but I truly feel with SP support that I am still in the game!
I've refocused my goals. I've broken them down to challenges by quarter and I am starting a few streaks. More to come... WE can do anything we put our hearts and minds to!

I started this journey 2/20/12. It's been a 1 day at a time journey and Sparkpeople have been there every one of them. I don't think I would be this successful without them.
Looking forward to the end of month 3 with excitement!
2 month accomplishments.
15 lbs gone forever
2 inches gone forever
Went from NO exercise to surviving a 20 minute mile walking pace and 4 miles. When I started I could barely make it 1 miles in an hour. My knee osteoarthritis is still giving me pain but not nearly as many bad days. On to month #3...
Month #3:
Successful. Lost a total of 5 lbs and 6.5 inches. I'd certainly like more in the weight -- at least 10 lbs per month but very pleased with the inches lost. I will be adding more cardio every week and starting my strength training in the morning for month 4... Here's to another "lighter" month.
Month #4:
Slow and steady wins the race - right!
5 lbs and 3 inches smaller.
Doing strength training in the mornings and walking in the evenings. Still struggling to reduce my walking pace. But not going to let it beat me!
On to month 5.
