I Face the World


Although anyone who sees me can immediately assess that I am overweight and lacking in physical strength, I try to pretend to myself that things aren't all that bad. This page is my open acknowledgement that I am committed to getting back to my healthy weight and fitness level.

My Goals:
I remember how good it felt to be lean and fit, just a few years ago. I want that back!

My Program:
 I am "eating less, moving more" and keeping track of all of it on sparkpeople. Lifestyle change, not "diet."

    My DH has relatives living in Texas and oh my: it's a different world with incredible expectations for grooming, cooking, entertaining . . . all of that!!!

    But even my own small town Ontario experience from the 50s and 60s saw every woman wearing a girdle and stockings and heels to go shopping plus a dress of course!! -- and we tried hard for those sprayed in place flip hairdos too!! Sleeping on brush rollers!! Hardly uncomfortable at all!!!!

    Thanks for reading & commenting on my blog. Our rural area has a LOT of "celebrating our freedom to infect others" people. We have cases and even deaths right now. Since we are a vacation spot, I expect we will have more. Our Dept of Health website lists both the local and state data but also numbers of "zip code not reported" or "out of state" so we really don't know how many are walking among us. I really wish everyone would at least wear a mask while shopping. Stay safe, stay well.
