Hi, I'm Chris, I'm 65, divorced, and live in a country town in western Victoria, Australia. For way too long I've ignored the fact that I'm not eating properly, or getting enough exercise, and that the reason I'm so tired all the time is because those bad habits are taking their toll on my body. Late November 2014, I joined our town's branch of the T.O.W.N.(Take Off Weight Naturally) Club , on the recommendation of my doctor. Each week we weigh in, each week we have to stand and tell the others in the group whether we've put on or lost weight, and how much. Following the meeting the club makes a point of visiting a local coffee shop for morning tea, as proof that life doesn't have to be without enjoyment, just because we are trying to lose our excess weight. I was a member of Spark People quite some time ago, and because there is no structured diet as such with TOWN Club, I decided to keep track of what I eat and drink here on Spark People, so I could get some idea of where I'm at nutritionally.

My Goals:
I need to -
- eat good, clean, healthy foods
- eat within my recommended nutritional guidelines daily.
- exercise each and every day - no excuses - either or indoors or out of doors.
- drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.
- remember I am the one who is responsible for my health, weight and fitness level, no one else.

My Program:
1. Attend my local T.O.W.N. Club meetings each week.
2. Plan and log meals, exercise and water here on Spark People.
3. Be honest, admit the times I went wrong, and be happy with the times I did something right.

Personal Information:
I'm Chris, I live with my three dogs and elderly cat in a small town in western Victoria, Australia.
I'm 63 and my body is definitely reminding me of how badly I've treated it over too many years, with very little exercise and way too much junk food.

    Thanks for adding your experience to my Planning blog. I can feel so overwhelmed and anxious at times, and making a plan for my menu, my exercise and my spending, takes a lot of that anxiousness out of it. If I get 'stuck' I always make a list of the main things I need to do that day - and there's never really as many things as I thought there was. I almost always complete my list too - because I make myself do what's on the list. It's my way of managing life - it works for me.
