I have been around this block so many times I own real estate on every corner. As a mom to a toddler and a graduate student I suffer from decision fatigue and constant exhaustion. I need weight loss to be simple, but for me it is about overcoming emotional eating as well as eating right. It takes a significant amount of energy to make the right decisions for my health. I am trying to embrace it instead of feel sorry for myself. I am going to make deliberate choices to shape my life and body. I am empowering myself to make the changes I want to see. I want to be mindful of my actions and relationship with food.

Exercise has always been the easy part for me. While I strive to get more movement into my day, much of this journey is about my relationship with food. I don't have a lot of time for exercise and I become sad and distracted with my lack of time to the point of paralysis. My ultimate goal, once school is over and I return to work, is to incorporate a regular workout into my day. Baby steps.

My Goals:
Lose 97 lbs.

Buy clothes in the regular section.

Do something active most days.

Consume mostly whole foods.

Disease prevention.

Be a positive role model for my son.


Develop a healthy relationship with food.

To feel good in my own skin.

My Program:
Limit my calorie intake to SP recommended range.

Drink half my weight in water daily.

Eat a primarily dairy free diet.

Eat as clean as possible.

Avoid nightshades.

Move as much as possible.

Work on my inner dialogue.

Build myself up. Focus on the positive.

Personal Information:
I am a Texas native who transplanted to Washington state. It's been our dream to move here for more than a decade. We love it!

I am currently a SAHM completing my graduate degree. I cannot wait to go back to work. LOL

Other Information:
I love to read fiction. My favorite genres are science fiction/fantasy, paranormal, horror, mysteries, romance, general fiction and historical.

Before I had a kid I loved to cook, sew, craft, refinish old furniture, repurpose vintage items, shop estate sales, watch movies, and hang out with friends. Now I am lucky to get a shower and read a book a page at a time. Someday... :)

    I asked my Dr. because I'm definitely not finished losing. She gave me 6 months to lose 30 lbs because she was sure I'd get pregnant in that time, sure enough we did! I actually had to cancel one of our appointments because it was for discussing other options to conceive. She wasn't worried at all about me losing while pregnant since my bmi is still quite high. Plus she said she definitely doesn't want me to gain at all during pregnancy so that's stressful. I'm like what if I fail!!!! Lol, so I was surprised when I got on the scale Saturday and it was down. I haven't been trying hard because I've been nauseous and whatnot. The scale at the Dr. office always reads higher though since I'm clothed and wearing shoes. Plus I weigh at home first in the morning. I think everything will be great though. I'm getting so excited!!
