Each day that I make healthy choices I feel that energetic glow that makes life so joyous. And that glow improves with practice. I choose to embrace who I am today. And I take responsibility for the quality of my life by making responsible and healthy choices in all aspects of my life. The by-product of a Healthy lifestyle is a healthy body weight. I'm not exactly sure what number that is for me. If I keep my focus on living my healthiest every day, I am sure that a lot of different numbers will be healthy for me, along the way.

Lower my A1C!

Make Healthy Choices

Keep a Positive Attitude

Take full responsibility for my quality of life.

My Program:
On August 9th, I went back to my old account on Atkins.com and started following Induction (the first stage with 20 net carbs. Net carbs are total grams carbs - fiber grams.) At my Dr.s appointment 10 days later, I told my Dr. that my blood glucose levels were too low at bedtime (78) and she told me to go off meds (Invokana 100mg) and agreed to let me try and keep my sugar levels low by diet and exercise. I keep accruing information and have since acquired a copy of Dr. Fung's book "The Obesity Code" where he recommends a program of Intermittent fasting to lower insulin levels in the bloodstream. I have been eating a full day of a low carb diet one day and just eating dinner on the alternate day for about a week now. My body seems to be responding well to this and I am losing weight. Even more significant to me is my fasting blood sugars are in non-diabetic ranges. I keep waiting for them to creep up, but so far they have been lower than when I was taking medication. I will continue on

Hi Ms. Nancy, thanks for writing. We do have some similiarities including our great name :-), I am so hoping I can do as well as you have done. HOW WONDERFUL YOU ARE DOING? I am counting calories but have found if there is this accoutability on SP and folks like you, that I want to do good. I didn't think I did so well yesterday as I went out to dinner at Olive Garden. I actually didn't do too badly but could have done better. It is certainly a different mind set to thoroughly check over the menu before ordering.

    Have a GREAT DAY

    Hi Nancy Jane...
Hope your off to a great start this Monday morning...I just spent 2 hours walking through Wal-Mart. Now I have to figure out how many calories burned...It has to count for something. ha ha
Thanks for your comment on the grandkids. They are so special. I don't get to see them very often. I just had my 13 year old grandson for 3 weeks. What fun we had. Can't wait until next year.
You have a great looking family as well. Are those your kids?
I love how you have your before pictures and how your ready and waiting for the new and improved After Pictures.
    Have a great week!
