Each day that I make healthy choices I feel that energetic glow that makes life so joyous. And that glow improves with practice. I choose to embrace who I am today. And I take responsibility for the quality of my life by making responsible and healthy choices in all aspects of my life. The by-product of a Healthy lifestyle is a healthy body weight. I'm not exactly sure what number that is for me. If I keep my focus on living my healthiest every day, I am sure that a lot of different numbers will be healthy for me, along the way.

Lower my A1C!

Make Healthy Choices

Keep a Positive Attitude

Take full responsibility for my quality of life.

My Program:
On August 9th, I went back to my old account on Atkins.com and started following Induction (the first stage with 20 net carbs. Net carbs are total grams carbs - fiber grams.) At my Dr.s appointment 10 days later, I told my Dr. that my blood glucose levels were too low at bedtime (78) and she told me to go off meds (Invokana 100mg) and agreed to let me try and keep my sugar levels low by diet and exercise. I keep accruing information and have since acquired a copy of Dr. Fung's book "The Obesity Code" where he recommends a program of Intermittent fasting to lower insulin levels in the bloodstream. I have been eating a full day of a low carb diet one day and just eating dinner on the alternate day for about a week now. My body seems to be responding well to this and I am losing weight. Even more significant to me is my fasting blood sugars are in non-diabetic ranges. I keep waiting for them to creep up, but so far they have been lower than when I was taking medication. I will continue on

Thank you for sharing. I can tell you have a great sense of humor and don't take yourself too seriously. This is a good thing because life is too short! I will pray that the Lord will be with you as you go down the path to healthier living. If ever you are discouraged sparkmail me and I'll cheer you on. Blessings to you and yours.

    Hi Nancy Jane,
I'm glad you enjoyed my sparkpage...lol I've been noticing that most people are putting pictures of their kids and grandkids...All I have is my dogs. lol Well, they are my babies. But I think I should put a couple of the grandkids too. :)

WTG on quitting smoking. I think it is the best thing we can do for ourselves. I'm on day 49 of being smoke free after 3 years. I have an online site that I use for support. They have gotten me through the worst of it. I actually doing really well now.

Now to loose all this weight! ha ha

Keep smiling!!! (like in your pictures... lol)

I wanted to echo what JAREJIL said. I truly believe that as we get some of our feeling and emotions out in the open, those of us who are emotional (and sometimes binge) eaters will the able to get a handle on things. We can do this!
