I am a 46-year-old mother of 4, step mother of 3, and grandma of 2! I never had weight issues until I started having children. I suffer from depression and anxiety which seems to get worse the older I get 😔. Unfortunately, this causes me to self-medicate with food. I have tried many different diets. Some have been successful but I always gain the weight back plus more! I have decided that I want to be healthy as well as being skinny. I know that I can do this! I have finally moved from the "diet mentality" to the "healthy living" mentality. I welcome new sparkfriends! This is a journey we are all in together. It sure makes it better, easier and more fun when we are helping each other along the way! (Big, special THANK YOU to my wonderful sparkfriends! Love you all!) Some of my favorite quotes from sparkpeople: "If at first you don't succeed, you are running about average." "Being defeated is often temporary. Giving up makes it permanent." "We either make ourselves happy or miserable. The amount of work is the same." "There are no short cuts to any place worth going." "Insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting different results."

My Goals:
I want to lose 80 lbs by April 2012. I'm hoping I can do it sooner but we'll see. I want to be healthy and have TONS of energy to play with my kids and do everything I enjoy. I don't want to have to say "no" to everthing because I'm too tired!

My Program:
Since I am a Diet Pepsi addict, I'm starting there. I am weaning myself off of the caffeine and making sure I drink at least 10 glasses of water a day. I am tracking my food and my exercising. I'm trying to become more involved with sparkpeople this time. Hopefully I can get more motivation through members like me.

Personal Information:
My name is Andrea and I live in Twin Falls, ID. I gained most of this weight with my 3rd and 4th children. I would lose 20-30 lbs and then gain it right back and then some! I am so ready to be a fun mom instead of a mom who's always too tired.

Other Information:
I love to read which doesn't help my weight situation. I need to move more. I love to go camping, boating, riding motorcycles, and skiing with my family. I haven't gone skiing for a couple of years because of my weight. When we go boating I never get in the water and play too. I just watch everyone else. I also love scrapbooking, sewing, crocheting, and singing. I am done being this person who can't do the things she loves. I'm tired of my weight holding me back! It's time for a change!!

Hello girlie! Hope all is well in ID! Here in Kansas, we always have some crazy weather! Thunderstorms in winter?? Yep, that's what our forecast is going to be like on Saturday! emoticon emoticon Crazy, Crazy!!!

I don't know what I would do without you and your encouragement. You make me feel awesome, when you tell me how proud you are of me. I hope that your weight loss is going good as well! I saw you joined a new team! Congrats! I think that you doing fantastic, but we could always use more encouragement and ways to better for ourselves!

My hubby has been working some CRAZY overtime these last 3 weeks! I am sooo exhausted by it, and I'm not even the one doing the work! LOL So, this weekend, he told me that he doesn't have to work, or be anywhere, so we are going to find something fun to do with the kiddos. Not sure what yet, but I know it will be fine, since we will all be together!

I hope your weekend is super and I just wanted to say "thank you" for being such an awesome friend! I am happy that I have you in my life, even if it's all done by internet! :) Talk to you soon!!!! emoticon

Well good morning, my dear snowflake! I know it's cold where you are! We are getting the same thing here, only it will be 55 by Saturday. :) Here in Ks., if you don't like the weather, just wait. It will change!

So how are you doing?? Working your rear end off??! Kids all healthy? You?? We are finally all done with the sickness here... Knock on Wood!! Here's the sad part, it was 74 here on Monday and by the time we got to yesterday, the high was 32, with a dusting of snow and 32mph winds!! Good Lord! :(

WW has been good to me. I am finding it very easy to track my food. With clothes on at weigh in yesterday, I have lost a total of 5lbs, but when I'm on my scale (in the buff), I've lost 9lbs. I never weigh with my shoes on and I didn't take them off to begin with, when I went to my first meeting. :( Oh well, I will take the weigh-in on MY scale... it's more motivating! The tracking hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be. It's definitely making me very much aware of what I am putting into my mouth and when I am doing it. :)

Well, just checking in! I hope you are doing fabulously! Have a fantastic Thursday...(almost done) and we will talk very soon! **Hugs** emoticon emoticon

Heehee! Thanks so much for your sweet words! That 15lb loss is from when I joined in 2008!! And I have been hovering where I am at for the last 4 years!!! UGH!! I am with you about getting my rear end in gear! Exactly why I am joining WW. I have to know in the back of my mind that I am going to HAVE TO face that scale every week! LOL Maybe that will be my motivation! emoticon

Today is my first meeting. We shall see how that all goes. I hope that I LOVE it! I am trying to do one thing at a time... tracking my food and getting a handle on my eating, and then trying to incorporate the exercise thing to offset. My eating was TOTALLY out of control over the holidays. I am finally getting an understanding (or so I think) of what portion control and mindless eating is. Sometimes I have to catch myself, because I will be fixing the kids' lunches for school or their dinner at night, and find myself either snacking on what I'm fixing them while I'm doing it, or finishing whatever is left over on their plate. That stuff adds up!!! It's things like that, that make me realize that I don't want to have to put that on my tracker, so I don't do it!

I tell you, right now, I would just like to see onederland! I haven't been there, since I was 21. It's time to kick my own butt and make it happen. Glad I have you for encouragement and inspiration!! I couldn't do this without you! emoticon Have a fantastic Wednesday and we will chat soon! So glad you are on here, so we can keep in touch!! emoticon

You are such a sweetheart! Your encouragement fills my heart with warmth. I knew that I could count on you to help me with this. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend! I feel like I have known you forever!!!! emoticon

I'm going to try and get more motivation on working out. I walked 2 miles in 30 mins yesterday. Haven't done that in such a long time, and I felt great afterwards. :) I know that I will have to do more of that. Tracking my food has been easier than I thought it would be. I did it in the beginning, when I first joined. It helped me immensely and I lost 15lbs right off, knowing what I was putting in my mouth. I measured my waist and hips yesterday and recorded that. Funny thing, I haven't gained any inches from being sedentary, but I just FEEL yucko!!! :(

So your kids were in school today, huh? Lucky you!!! Hahaha! Just kidding! :) My oldest went swimming at the Y with one of her friends and I am getting ready to take Abby and Kyle to Target to let them spend some of their X-mas money on themselves.

Thank you for the tips about WW! I will remember that. It's too bad that the lady that does yours is so awful. What a terrible way to try and motivate yourself with a person like that. You deserve better than that!! How are you doing with your weight loss. Is it becoming easier for you? I know being told something by the dr is like hearing it from God, that you need to lose weight, or 'this' will happen. Kinda scares you enough to get in gear!!! :)

I hope you have a fabulous day and that those darn temps start rising here soon! I'm sure it doesn't help being as far north as you all are. :(
Arizona sounds good to me!!! Let's go!!!! Take care, sweetie! Talk to you soon!!! emoticon
