I am a 46-year-old mother of 4, step mother of 3, and grandma of 2! I never had weight issues until I started having children. I suffer from depression and anxiety which seems to get worse the older I get 😔. Unfortunately, this causes me to self-medicate with food. I have tried many different diets. Some have been successful but I always gain the weight back plus more! I have decided that I want to be healthy as well as being skinny. I know that I can do this! I have finally moved from the "diet mentality" to the "healthy living" mentality. I welcome new sparkfriends! This is a journey we are all in together. It sure makes it better, easier and more fun when we are helping each other along the way! (Big, special THANK YOU to my wonderful sparkfriends! Love you all!) My Goals:
I want to lose 80 lbs by April 2012. I'm hoping I can do it sooner but we'll see. I want to be healthy and have TONS of energy to play with my kids and do everything I enjoy. I don't want to have to say "no" to everthing because I'm too tired!


My Program:
Since I am a Diet Pepsi addict, I'm starting there. I am weaning myself off of the caffeine and making sure I drink at least 10 glasses of water a day. I am tracking my food and my exercising. I'm trying to become more involved with sparkpeople this time. Hopefully I can get more motivation through members like me.



Personal Information:
My name is Andrea and I live in Twin Falls, ID. I gained most of this weight with my 3rd and 4th children. I would lose 20-30 lbs and then gain it right back and then some! I am so ready to be a fun mom instead of a mom who's always too tired.


Other Information:
I love to read which doesn't help my weight situation. I need to move more. I love to go camping, boating, riding motorcycles, and skiing with my family. I haven't gone skiing for a couple of years because of my weight. When we go boating I never get in the water and play too. I just watch everyone else. I also love scrapbooking, sewing, crocheting, and singing. I am done being this person who can't do the things she loves. I'm tired of my weight holding me back! It's time for a change!!

    Hi there, my dear friend! Hope all is well with you! emoticon

    Finally I am feeling human again! That stomach flu knocked me on my rear end!! Then having to take my middle kiddo to the ER, well let's just say that everyone is healthy and doing way better than last week (knock on wood)!!

    Just to let you know... I broke down and am joining WW. I need someone to hold me accountable. My first meeting/weigh-in is on Wednesday of this week. I find myself being very excited about this. I need more of just eating right and trying to just motivate myself. I need outside encouragement (not that SP doesn't do that), but I need to have someone that I can meet with and also visit with people in person, that are trying to do the same thing. I wanted to do something that will let me eat the things I already eat, and not order any "outside" type of food, like Jenny Craig, or any of that. I want to be able to eat what my family is eating. emoticon The weekly weigh-ins I am hoping will get me moving more. I have been tracking my food for the last week here on SP, and that has helped alot. I only plan on doing this till I have it down. :)

    So, what are your plans today? I am assuming that your kiddos are out of school for the holiday? It will be the coldest day of the week (of course), since they are out. We will try to find some great indoor activity to do!

    So, now I am really mad!!! You can't go to KC with your hubby, huh?? That's terrible! I would've taken the 3 hour trip up, just so that we could hang out!! emoticon Shame on his work!!! It just could've happened! Is he flying? Maybe you can sneak onto the plane! lol

    My kiddos went back on the 3rd. Why would you start them back at the end of the week???!! Kinda crazy! They went back 2 days and this is a full week for all of them. Then it's conference time with my girlies the following week, so they get out at 1:30 for 3 days and then they all have Monday the 21st off! Whew!!!! What a whirlwind!!!

    I am with you on not being able to heal, because of having to take care of everyone else. Life doesn't stop for us, even when we are sick. And you know, when we get sick and do take time to relax, so does everyone else. It's like a free pass to not having to do anything. UGH!!! We just have to dust ourselves off and get busy, because no one else is going to do it for us!

    You have to get another job? How come? Are you wanting to work outside of the house, or are you going to try and work from home still?

    And as far as secrets to working out with having the job that I do, is when I drop Kyle off to school, I go home and get my workout then. If I go home and take my shoes off, or sit down, that's it for me! :( Haven't been able to workout now for 2 weeks, just because it gets me to hacking and then I am miserable. For you, if you get a day job, you would want to workout either before, or do it right when you get home, so you don't have time to relax. :)

    We will make it a point to try and meet, even if we have to do it on our own!! LOL

    First off, I want to thank you for my goodie and the sweet, encouraging note you left with it! Thank you so much for thinking of me. I love that you are getting back on here. It makes my day!! You have always been there for me!! I need that encouragement and support!

    Hope everything is going well, and that you and everyone in your family is well. So far, it's just been me that is fighting this darn head cold. I hate when I don't feel like my kids can get close to me. I just don't want them sick and this stuff is going around like a wildfire. :( I'm ready to be done. I spent my entire Saturday on the couch, not wanting to move. The cough is the worst. It just won't go away.

    Congratulations on your Consistency Award! You are doing so good, which in turn makes me try harder! Your motivation will always help me try to do better and make better choices!

    I saw your status on here and my heart skipped a beat! I hope to see you on here a lot more! I need some serious encouragement and motivation to get up and move more. I feel like an old lady sometimes!! lol

    Glad to be through the holidays and here soon (like tomorrow) the kiddos will start back to school and we will have to start that routine thing all over again. I have really enjoyed them being home. :)

    I hope things are going well! Just wanted to shoot you a little note telling you that I am thinking of you and that you are a SUPERSTAR!!!
