Happy Friday! We have arrived at the end of another week, and this one seemed to literally fly on by due to the shorter week!

Now that places and things are beginning to open up again, my husband and I have decided to getaway for about a week, and it's been quite awhile since we've taken any kind of a vacation. We haven't decided exactly where to go, but I'm open to suggestions.
I thought it might help with your suggestions if I share with you some of the places I've already been . . .

I've been to a lot of places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone.

I've never been in Cognito either. I hear that nobody recognizes you there.

I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport. You have to be driven there. Thanks to some of my extended family and friends, I have been there several times.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to do a lot of jumping, and I've never had enough stamina for that much exercise, and at my age, my knees just can't take it anymore.

I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there very often.

I have been in Flexible, but only when it has been very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I've been going there more often as I'm getting older.

One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age, I need all the stimuli I can get!

And, sometimes I think I am in Vincible, but life frequently shows me I am not.

People keep telling me I’m in Denial, but I’m positive I’ve never been there before.

So far, I haven’t been in Continent. But my travel agent says I’ll be going soon, and very frequently. I'm not looking forward to it because it can get very wet and damp there.

I've been in Deepdoodoo quite a bit. The more adventurous I get, the easier it is to end up there.

“The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

emoticon J - Joy is food for the heart. Love is food for the soul.
emoticon O – Open your eyes and heart to the joy that awaits you in each day.
emoticon Y – Your journey can be joyful.
emoticon F - Focus on the positive in every day.
emoticon U - Use your inner guidance to help you find the happiness within you.
emoticon L - Learn to listen to the joyful whisperings of your heart.

emoticon J – Joy blooms where minds and hearts are open.
emoticon U - Unlock the door to your fears and unleash more joy in your life.
emoticon N – Notice and appreciate the beauty of all that surrounds you.
emoticon E - Encourage more joy in your life through mindfulness.

Welcome to this new month of June.

What brings you joy? We all have different things that trigger thoughts and feelings of happiness or joy. What is most important in being able to find and feel the happiness or joy in our lives is being present to recognize it in the moment. Mindfulness. By doing this, you turn off all the extraneous stuff that is distracting, and constantly vying for your attention.

Why not open yourself up to your happiness and joy? Let's use this new month of June to consciously be mindful and present. Let's be willing to open ourselves up to all the happiness our heart can hold! Actively seek out the things that bring you pleasure, happiness, peace, contentment, or better yet - pure joy. Allow life to bring you the spontaneity it has been waiting to give to you. As they come to you, and you begin to notice them, and absorb them into your heart and soul, thankfully allow yourself to sit and soak in the sunshine of each of those moments so lovingly sent to refuel your body, mind, spirit, and soul.

Have a good week and an even better month!

In honor of this Memorial Day weekend, here’s a little military humor:

You would think that being a submarine captain would pay well - but I hear they can't keep their heads above water.

Trench warfare should always be a last ditch effort.

Paratroopers pull strings to stay on the job.

When the sailor failed to report for duty, he really missed the boat.

The soldier who survived mustard gas and pepper spray is now a seasoned veteran.

Where do rabbits learn to fly?
    In the hare force.

One Sunday morning, the minister noticed a little boy staring up at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. It was covered with names, and small American flags were mounted on either side of it.

The seven-year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the minister walked up, stood beside the boy, and said quietly, "Good morning, son."
"Good morning, Father," replied the young man, still focused on the plaque.
"Father Scott, what is this?" the young boy asked.
"Well, son, it's a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service." Soberly, they stood together, staring at the large plaque.
The small boy's voice was barely audible when he asked, "Which service, the 9:45 or the 11:15?"

Please remember to display your flag this weekend in memory of those who gave their all!
