this one is the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival. huge, big weeklong deal here. they build a phenominal ice palace, have surprise royalty which is announced at the coronation ceremony. kids from the local schools are honored to be court pages (6 a year 2 of my kids were pages) and the court is from the senior class of the local high school, voted on by their peers. there is a prince and princess. one from each of 2 local colleges. the king and queen are a huge secret not even their families know ahead. only 2 people on the committee and the king and queen themselves know.
There are softball on snow games. hockey tournaments. concerts, torchlight skiing. skating shows. parades, dinners, throughout the week. the local tv stations come and its all over the news. its pretty incredible and fun. i used to be in the parade every year in college (the forestry club always had a float) and participated alot before i got sick. now i just enjoy watching. heres a little blurb on it if you are interested at all!! www.saranaclakewintercarnival.com/

Can you believe we are on week 8 already, wishing you a very successful week.

    “Don't Just

    Don't just learn, experience.
    Don't just read, absorb.
    Don't just change, transform.
    Don't just relate, advocate.
    Don't just promise, prove.
    Don't just criticize, encourage.
    Don't just think, ponder.
    Don't just take, give.
    Don't just see, feel.
    Don’t just dream, do.
    Don't just hear, listen.
    Don't just talk, act.
    Don't just tell, show.
    Don't just exist, live.”

ps..i've had mine for YEARS, and will need to get new rubber bands at sone point as these are stretching out and losing their tension. but i could tie ribbon around, or get a clip i bet. i actually have 2 of them, so if i get frustrated with one puzzle i can work on another . or if i want to save one done for a bit i just roll it up, look at it when i want, and when im ready take it apart. love love love them!!

i have a puzzle holder something like this, only its felt with 3 big rubber bands. you roll it up, including the pieces you have out and not fit in (in a single layer) and thats that...when you take it out again everything is as you had it. i take mine down like this every time i work on them..sometimes daily..best invention ever!!
