I'm 53, been overweight most of my adult life and want to get it off because of a heart attack at 45. I did not know I'd had a heart attack. I went for pre-operative testing for carpal tunnel surgery and they insisted on a cardiologist's ok first because my ekg showed a heart attack. The cardio verified it and I've been drastically changing my diet-I was a total crucible and soy addict but no more after finding out how bad they are if you are hypothyroid. I had had NO signs I'd had a heart problem. No pain, no flu symptoms....only fatigue but I was doing a construction project and thought that was the reason for the fatigue. So get checked! If your cholesterol/triglycerides is high do something about it! Never be afraid to go read and learn about anything in your life! Be proactive in your healthcare!!!

Jack of all trades, master of none. But close to master on many!

Problem with me is I refuse to admit there's something I can't do.

Former accountant, restaurant owner and operator, personal chef, bakery owner and operator and current student in court reporting.

I've tried sky diving, singing in a band, drove demo derby, building my own kitchen cabinets, decorated wedding cakes, drove across country with my kids in a moving van dragging my car behind it, belly dance student, soaper, and any craftwork probably than you can think of including some you haven't like china painting......

Other Information:
If it's on film or in print I probably do or would like it. Voracious reader and watcher of films, information, or do it yourself.

fiber is easy! I focus on higher fiber veggies and fruit. Frozen raspberries...8 grams of fiber a serving! get the ones that are just fruit and no sugar. Peas are almost 9, kale is high and good for so many other things! Lentils are not true paleo but neither am I and they're like 16 grams. Fiber is easy! unfortunately for me I don't like avocados...they're high.

Others I love that are good:
    almonds
    figs
    flax seed
    banana
    blueberries
    broccoli
    grapefruit

That's really a lot of food you're talking about! I'm used to just having a piece of fruit every few hours, I wonder how long it'll take to ramp up to putting that much food in my body? I also need for fiber, so some of that has to be replaced with beans emoticon

ETA: DUH, no beans on the Paleo diet! emoticon

I focus on meat! Breakfast is meat, eggs, and fruit. Lunch is a big old hunk of meat and lotsa veggies. Dinner is...you guessed it more meat, and veggies/fruit. Snacks are pretty much either jerky or nuts. It's pretty easy actually when you don't eat grains!
