I have struggled my entire life with weight loss. At the age of 9 or 10 I began playing sports (Softball in the summer basketball in the winter) and by the age of 12 stopped eating breakfast and lunch for fear I would be ridiculed for what I ate. Regardless of these facts I continued to gain weight. By the time I was 22 I was 360 lbs. I underwent lap band surgery at that time and lost 60 lbs. 40 of which I gained back. Since then I have yo-yo'd between 275 and 340 unable to get below 275 and seemingly unable to lose weight for any significant period of time. I have recently had a full metabolic panel completed along with several thyroid and diabetes tests completed. I'm not sure if it's fortunate or unfortunate that all the tests came back normal except a slight Vitamin D deficiency but still no answer as to how I should go about losing weight. The initial 60lb loss was directly after surgery but the subsequent loses were only possible through extremely high intense 60 min work outs and eating approximately 1200 cal per day. My lapband folks recently told me to cut back to less than 1000 per day to see if that helps. I can't do that. Firstly I feel like it's unhealthy, secondly I'm constantly hungry so I feel that even if I were successful for a few days I would eventually cave to the constant hunger pains and binge eat. I'm at a loss.
