Well off track again. This time gaining about 40 pounds back from my lowest. I've been looking for quick fixes and easy outs, that I know are not there, and have finally told myself it's time to go back to how I had the most success in the first place. Clean eating and exercise. Spark people....I AM BACK! I don't want to feel this way anymore so now I will take control!

Ok I am back. Still fighting to get to onederland, but I'll be there soon. I just realized how much time I have wasted with the last two years. I should have been to goal by now. So here is to seeing how strong I really am and what I can make happen between now and the end of the year!

June 2011/Well I have now completed my first half marathon. What a crazy journey that was. I do believe that is the first time I have ever thrown up from exercising. Yes I crossed the finish line and that was all she wrote! But I finished 2hours 41 minutes. A little shy of my 2 1/2 hour goal, that just means its time to train a little harder:) I may try it again in October for the IMT Des Moines Marathon. I am done training for my half marathon, now its back on the weight loss journey. I am going to get to onederland this month!!

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by my page. I found Spark People in April, 2009 and since then have lost 144 pounds. It is a good start but I have a long way to go. I have fallen down, several times but staying active with Spark helps me disect my feelings and get back up. I have learned to keep my exercise routine no matter what. Even if I am eating crappy I still go exercise. And I can say I think I am learning to like it, I love running now and aerobics. I ran my first 5k on June 5th, 2010 in Des Moines. The Dam to Dam. I was so nervous and excited. I was completing another goal but SSSSOOO afraid of failure. But I did it! I have one ultimate goal and that is to get to "Onederland!!" So watch out Onederland cuz here I come. Spark is my cruch and without this wonderful place I don't know where in my journey I would be.

I am still working on the emotional eating. I have learned some things though, you don't understand an emotional eater unless you have been one, a person has to learn why she eats when she does, what are your triggers and how do you respond to them, and what has caused this response. Even with all of this that I have learned it is still a challenge every day to stop and think about why I am eating before I eat. And sometimes even though I know that I shouldn't, I eat anyway. It is something that I am going to have to harness and hold tight reins on for the rest of my life.

I am well on my way to being healthy, as long as I keep on trying,
Your not a failure when you don't complete your task successfully, your a failure when you stop trying.

If there is anything I can do to help you please send me some spark mail!! That is one of my favorite parts!!

My Goals:
I have such large goals that I try to focus on the small ones. I would like to lose 2-3 pounds a week. This does not seem to be an easy task for me. Binging seems to get in the way! UGGG CONTROL!

I want to run a 5K-Met June 5 2010
I am looking now for a 10k to sign up for!!
2011 goals are to run the Dam to Dam 20K in June , Completed 2hours 41 minutes and the IMT Des Moines Marathon in October.Well since I finished the 20k I have decided I have no desire at this point to run a marathon so maybe the half marathon in October. It scares me just thinking about it. That big F word still hovers, FAILURE. A fear I will fight every day!

Just have to add that I did complete the IMT half marathon in 2011 and then did Dam to Dam 20k again in 2012. I have lost my running drive since then. Trying to get that back.

I want to finally have more than just a pretty face.

I want to be comfortable in my clothes, and be able to shop anywhere and not plus size st

My Program:
I have always done calories in vs. calories out, but just started Chris Powell's carb cycling. I think it will work for me!

Running, running, running or and running, LOL. I used to love it! However since the marathon training is over I have backed off the running a lot and only have done it a couple of times a month. I am really trying to make myself get back out there. It gives me such a mental clarity! My new found love is Fitboxing! I love beating the crap out of a bag and it is all interval training with weights, strength and cardio. My favorite class by far!

Just keep on keepin' on!
Persistance, that is my secret, Persistance.

"You've got this!"

It's the pounds closest to your goal that seem the hardest to lose! My body just seems to naturally want to sit at this weight but then I think, it's just matching my eating and activity level. I bought the Fitbit Flex on 7/4/13 before I was truly invested in doing better and it has gradually motivated me back into my old swing of things.

I've also switched to exercising in the morning the last couple weeks which is amazing because I am not a morning person. I'm surprised to find how much energy it gives me during the day! I have so much energy that I usually end up walking at lunch or after work, too!

I've missed feeling like this! So glad we're back. :)

Wow, sounds like we are in a similar place still - probably why we friended each other to begin with! I've been off Sparkpeople for a long time (years), too, but I'm back in the swing! I've yo-yo'ed with the same 8 or 10 pounds for a looooooong time but it's time I'm able to wear some of those clothes again that have been hanging in the closet for way too long.
