UPDATE: Feb 2014
Time to get back into fitness. I want energy and health so I can pursue all the things I want in life.

Baby is here. My lovely little Simon. He makes it very hard to work out! But, I am focusing on eating healthy and getting back into tracking my food. He is breastfed only- what great motivation to put good food into your body!

Pregnancy is progressing well. We found out the baby bug will be a BOY! We are anxious to meet him- come on March.

Husband and I just found out the news- we are expecting a baby in March of 2012. I plan on being a healthy pregnant lady, so I can be a healthy mom. So, weight loss goals are on hold. I would like to gain a healthy amount of weight for baby, and then I know I can get it back off again easy afterwards! (One can be positive in her thinking, right?)
New goals and plan to be shared as I figure it all out.
First dr. appt and hopefully first visual of baby bug is on Aug. 5th.

Update Jan. 2011
I'm still here. I think I am getting better and better at this, but still have a lot of work to do, and habits to change. 2010 was a net nothing- however thank goodness I lost some weight to balance what I gained. And while I didn't come out ahead, I did maintain where I started which is better than what it could have been. I increased my fitness throughout the year and I am taking less time to get back on the horse when I am thrown off (or when I let go and fall!).
Can't wait to get to know my Sparkbuddies better and spend this year getting even more healthy.

Wow....almost 3 years and I am still here chugging along. Some days I get down on myself for not making the scale move faster, but then I kick my own butt and remind myself that I have made huge progress.
I am healthier and happier. By adding more nutrition and exercise into my life I have found a way to keep my depression and anxiety more under control. I am a little more confident, and I am ok with taking my time to get to that ultimate weight loss goal. This is really about health and feeling good about myself- I think that is what it has always been about.

Update- May 2009
So, I am still here. Went through a bad period earlier this year and was very self sabotaging. Renewed my energy and finally got a gym membership. Working out regularly has changed my outlook, my motivation, and been a huge positive influence on me. This is more than about weight- its about a good body image, a positive outlook, and retraining my brain from negativity to positivity. That's not easy!
I am now over two years married. I am almost finished with my fourth year of teaching. I am almost done with my first year of grad school. I know that I am a person who can persevere and commit to things. Healthy living is something I can do too!

    5 km is easy peasy, normally I will runt that distance 3 times each week.

    We need to move AGAIN because the owner of the building does not want us to rent my grandma-in-laws old apartment, apparently. We thought everything was ok by now, but no...*sigh* So stressed out!

    Well, we just moved 600 km to a new city last week. Everything is a mess and exercise has not been a priority. At least I've been trying the cycle tracks this town has, for the past 2 days. My goal is to bicycle to work, but the traffic makes it difficult, since I'm too chicken to bicycle on the actual streets. So I have to find alternative ways, on smaller streets and cycle tracks without traffic. It's a challenge!

    I signed up for the last 5K challenge, but ti be honest I did not know how to track, since you could only track miles? And I only know kilometers. I don't want to translate kms to miles every time I'm going to track exercise, so I gave up.

    This is a really stupid question, but how long is 5K anyway? 5000 meters? 5000 yards? Help, please?! emoticon

    Yea! I've never done a battle like this before here. It's really motivating me and bringing out my inner competitiveness. I"m really enjoying it so far, now the real challenge is going to be if it can keep my interest for the whole 8 weeks! Definitely something I have to work out with myself! Since you are just barely preggo, being tired and lazy is normal. It could also be a result of eating all the salty stuff too!! Try buying large jumbo packs of gum, and try to always keep gum in your mouth and in your pocket/purse to try to mask the weird taste. Is the weird taste in your mouth from being pregnant? I don't know if that's a side effect with the nausea (have you been throwing up yet?) because I never had that issue that I can remember. Really the best way to stop being tired and lazy is to just get up and do something to get you out of the funk. You have to actually consciously do it on purpose. Easier said then done for sure!
    Glad you are doing good though! So happy for your guys. A get together is needed stat!
