Today I am beginning a new page in my book of life! I am a Nanna to 3 very wonderful kids, and I want to be there for them in every aspect of their lives. They are the reason that I need to lose weight and to start living healthier.
I have a wonderful supportive husband, and 2 amazing sons and one of the best daughter - in - laws anyone can have. I have been blessed so much with what God has given me that I feel I need to start taking care of this body that God gave me to use while here on earth. So today is the beginning of the new me!!

I started out very well, but have lost some motivation along the way. Today I joined SparkCoach to get myself motivated and back on track.

The new me is not going as quickly as I hoped. Still having some knee problems which has caused me to be less active than I want. Working on getting the knee better, and losing weight will help, but without being active, losing has been slow going.
This slow process has allowed me time to concentrate on my eating habits more and so have been working really hard to having healthier foods in my daily diet.
I have not given up, I know this is possible and I am determined to get to my goal weight and will achieve a healthier me.

Have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis which is what has been causing the pain in my knee.
Today I start exercising again. Received an Unloader Knee Brace to use while walking, exercising, etc. It will allow me to be more active without having much pain. I will be wearing it if I am going to be on my feet for any length of time.
I am so excited about this.
Stay Tuned for an update in a month.

Here it is 2 months later and I haven't improved much in regards to the knee pain. Even with the knee brace I experience pain. It is somewhat better, but not to a great degree. I sweat a lot when wearing the brace (especially in hot weather) and so now I have a rash around the brace area and has made it uncomfortable to wear the brace. So a thin cloth is worn under the brace to help in that area.
A lot of family issues going on lately and this has caused some stress which the result is over eating. So trying to keep that under control so that I don't gain too much back. Doing fairly well in that department, but stress has many faces !!
The exercising that I thought I would be able to do when I got this brace has not happened. I do walk 3x a week, but was hoping to do it every day. But 3x is better than nothing.
I am taking baby steps in this weight loss, and I have to be satisfied with that. I do get discouraged when I'm not able to be as active as I would like. I try not to get too down but it is hard when you see others enjoying something you love to do and you have to sit on the sidelines. I know with time I will either be able to be more active, or will come to the realization that what I'm able to do is all I can expect.
I will continue to smile, and to be positive even when I don't want to.

A new year and a new outlook on life. Have been losing weight, so am please with that. Finally took over control of what I am eating, and have seen the results.
I had arthroscopic surgery this month, and so am recovering from that and faithfully doing my exercises from physio, along with some core strengthening ones. The scale # is going down, and my clothes are feeling loose. So happy to have finally got things under control, and actually seeing and feeling results. Have cut out many of the carbs I was eating, like bread, pasta, potato, and baking. Drink mainly water and green tea, and try not to give in to my cravings.
Overall feeling really good, and am looking forward to the rest of the pounds coming off.
Met my first goal weight - now working on the second goal weight. I am so proud of myself. Thankyou to all the support from the SP friends and keeping me on the right track.

Have not been faithful in posting on SP. Have been slacking off and regretting it. Have made today a new beginning. Even though I may not post daily on SP, I am inspired by my brother in law to make this happen.
