Hi! My name is Amy. I am a Spanish teacher in Las Vegas and I am really working on getting healthy. I moved here from Virginia in 2006 and I want to use the new start in all aspects of my life. I have a lot to lose and I am really doing it this time! I have a lot of weight to lose but a very good future to gain.

Update:12/07/10: Still stuck at 329. I have not been able to exercise much since I hurt my hip. At least it is not a labral tear but it is frayed and I am trying to get the inflammation down. Trying Dr. Johnson's Alternate Day again to see if I can get rid of this inflammation.
Update 08/21/2010: Well overall it has been a great year. I started last August at 381 and I am now at 329.5 YAY!!!! Still doing Paleo/Primal Blueprint it has worked better for me than any other diet I have ever done and since I am still doing it a year later I think that's proof. I still have a hard time with frequent plateaus and I saw an endocrinologist this summer and he said all is fine except a Vit. D deficiency and that unfortunately I was fighting genetics and couldn't rewrite my DNA. Contrary to his belief though, I am going to win the fight! I have also completed my Masters degree in Education and I bought my first house in November so I am pretty proud of me. It has been a pretty good year. Been lax the past 3 weeks so it's time for school to start and time to get back on track and lose the 8 pounds I've gained this summer. Let's go we can do this- here's to another successful year!

Update 08/25/09: I started using the Paleo diet last Tuesday 8/18/09 and I am losing pretty fast but it has only been a week. I lost 9 pounds this week and feel really good. With all of my newly found allergies including wheat, this diet was highly recommended. I love eating like a cavewoman and I think my body loves it too!

My Goals:
1. Increase my exercise and eat a healthy balanced diet full of meats, healthy fats and fruits and veggies.
2. Weigh on a regular scale(350). WOOHOO accomplished this finally!
3. Go on another cruise. Dit it!
4. Weigh below 300 lbs.
5. Goal weight of 180 lbs.

My Program:
The Paleo/ Primal Blueprint Diet- lean meats, fruits, non starchy veggies, seeds, oils.(You can have nuts too but I am allergic to all but hazelnuts and cashews and I cannot stand cashews! :))

Personal Information:
I am 36, and I moved to Las Vegas in 2006. I was recruited to teach here all the way in Virginia where I taught MS Spanish for 8 years. I teach HS now and I love it. I live with my sister Pam who is 34 and moved out here with me. I love my family and hope to travel the world.
