My name is Leslie and I do not want to be the fat chick any more.

I am re-starting AGAIN. I have had several false starts since I was introduced to this site. I know what to do. I know how to go about it. Now I just need to do it.

I guess the proverbial "slap in the face" that made me realize I needed to do something about my weight was being called THE SEA COW by a co-worker/former friend. No woman was meant to be called a Sea Cow - but having just seen the photos from my friends wedding Sept. 5... I think that description was more accurate than I ever cared to admit. So now I am seriously motivated to become Sea Cow No More!

Fitness Minutes: 1,380

My Goals:
I don't want to be the fat chick anymore.
I want to be healthy.
I want to have a baby.

My Program:
1. Follow medifast program (with the permission and supervision of my doctor)

2. Eat fruits, veggies, lean meats, fish, & whole grains.

3. Move a LOT more. At least 30 minutes of SOMETHING every day!

4. Not beat myself up while I do 1, 2, and 3.

Personal Information:
I live in Portland, Oregon and am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. And I still get homesick now & then.

I have been with my amazing boyfriend for over 10 years. We have a spoiled cat and want to add human children to our family soon. We are planning to get married soon (eloping is the plan - hate the idea of a real 'wedding'). He is my rock, my best friend, and my cheerleader.

I love blood, guts and gore. Horror & monster movies are my idea of a good time. I love a good scary ghost story.

I love music: punk, rock, metal, blues, bluegrass, early country (not a fan of the current stuff), and especially 80's music! All time favorites? The Cramps, Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Duran Duran, Slade, Yaz, Depeche Mode, the Cure, The Cult, Metallica, Adele, Alison Krauss, Los Lobos, and Willie Nelson....
go figure.

    If your Curves offers the nutrition class (I think it is now free to members) and you can fit it into your schedule it is a good class to take. I took it and it taught me I needed to eat because I am one of those people that can go all day without eating and not be hungry. WRONG, I put on the pounds. I also read the South Beach Diet book from cover to cover. I didn't like a lot of the food Curves suggested so I substituted more on the South Beach side. Walking is also a really good way to lose inches. I started walking Weaver in February and boy did I slim down. If you can, do the weighted hula hoop that also trims your waist. I lost 3" in my waist when I started doing the hoop. Some people cannot do the hoop because it hurts their back. You sound like you are on the right track. Just don't let people make you feel bad.
