I found SP while looking for a nutrition calculator. I'd lost 25 pounds without much of an idea about what I was doing. I was amazed and grateful to discover that Sparkpeople is so much more than a calorie tracker.

I know from experience that making small, consistent positive changes snowballs into an avalanche of change. I didn't know that I would need to pay attention to every day if I wanted to hang on to the benefits of those changes. I didn't know that nothing is or can be allowed to be more important than health. Not studying. Not chores. Not even family demands.

But I am learning that now.

My Goals:
SHORT-TERM
Do the tasks for the Winter 5% Challenge this week... and each week.
Brisk walk every day.
Strength train 2-3 times per week.

LONG-TERM
*Lose 15 pounds
*Run a half marathon
*Climb a peak
* HbA1C less than 7

Each day I will....
*Exercise 30 minutes
*Drink 8 glasses of water
*Track my food on Spark Nutrition and stay within limits
*Eat within my Spark Nutrition Tracker parameters.

*Work on a step in Beck Diet Solution



Personal Information:
I'm from Seattle Washington and I LOVE to hike. Love, love, love to hike!


Other Information:
I have juvenile diabetes which puts an extra wrinkle into exercise, like checking blood sugar in the middle of a long run and carrying juice and a glucometer everywhere. Oh yes, and occasionally crashing.

I'm midway through nursing school where I am probably the oldest nursing student ever.
