It took me awhile to become addicted to myspace, so forgive me while I'm figuring out this whole spark business. I have been interested in anything to do with health/fitness for a long time now. My highest weight was a little over 150lb. During college, I slowly made working out a habit and by the time I graduated was very regular with running/lifting weights. Lowest weight was probably around 115 lb, but that was almost 5 years ago. During graduate school, I managed to keep up with healthy lifestyle, but all that changed 2 years ago. School rotations and my first job requiring 60-80 hour work weeks put a huge kink in my plans. With a job change about 9 months ago, I've been slowly easing myself back into working out. I absolutely love the feeling of accomplishment after a good, hard run with my face beet red and sweaty! This site looks like a great place for motivation, resources, support and accountability.

UPDATE 9/19/07
I need to change my title to "ADDICTED TO SP" I swear! I love being on here - tracking my workouts, finding support in the teams, and learning cals better. This past Saturday, I ran my first 10k and had a great time.

Fitness Minutes: 60,295

My Goals:
-maintain a consistent workout regimen
-not focus on the numbers only
-do a 5k/10k race at least once a month April - October
-First 1/2 Marathon April 2008
-incorporate flexibility work (it's part of the big 3: cardio, strength, and flexibility that are tested but the one I never work on)
-get better control over sweets

My Program:
Cardio work is always the easiest for me and the one I truly enjoy! I do cardio at least 4 times a week - on the elliptical 2x (40-45 min) and run 2x. With my recent 1/2 marathon training, I'm running 3x week and try to do the elliptical another 1-2x week.

Strength Training - my normal goal is 2-3x/week. However, while training for the 1/2 marathon I've allowed that to slip a little. I'm still wanting to ST 2x/week, but don't always get it in.

Personal Information:
I've lived in Oklahoma all m y life. My parents and grandparents only live 30 minutes away. I actually kinda like it that way. Married for almost 4 years, no kids. 'Adopted' a cat, Kenzie, that is the perfect pet for us!
