My Personal Motto:
"MY CHOICE" (explained in blog dated 3-11-2010)

Hello, and welcome to my Spark Page. Ever since I can remember, I have been overweight. I never remember a time in my life that was not shadowed or overshadowed by weight issues. Even when I was a decent weight for a year or two of my life, I did not know it, and therefore, did not enjoy it.

Join me in this journey and we will run the race together, cheering each other over the finish line; but we won't quit once we cross that line. Instead, we will keep on going, maintaining what we have accomplished and becoming healthier each day, becoming a WHOLE person.

Jillian Michaels - Smart tip
You have 1 true obligation, that's to contribute your best you to the world.Visualize what you want out of life & think big. Don't be afraid of what others think. That's their business not yours. Don't feel undeserving. We're ALL deserving of living our dreams - some of us realize it & some don't. Youre not doing anyone any favors by living small. Embrace these truths & step up. The world is waiting.

James 1: 2-4 Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. (The Message Bible)

In the darkest days of World War II, Winston Churchhill stated "Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never--in nothing, great or small, large or petty--never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense."

Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together. ~ Vincent VanGogh

Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential. ~ Winston Churchill

Understand that by removing self-imposed boundaries you obtain limitless possiblities...

Develop the courage to go after your goals...

Believe that small changes can make a difference...

SOmetimes I feel so discouraged on this weight loss journey. I work so hard and get nowhere. It is those times I have to remember that through Christ I can do all things. this song, written by Geron Davis, says it so well.

Every road I walked had led to nowhere,
Everything I tried had turned out wrong.
It seemed I'd lost a reason,
    To get up every morning.
I had lot all hope and lost my song.
Circumstances said I wouldn't make it,
But that was all before I met The Man.
He put His arms around me,
    I heard HIm say, "forgiven",
And I knew I'd never be the same again.

Then and there, settled and done
    Then and there, victory won
No more walking on my own,
    No more facing life alone,
No more struggling with guilt and despair,
New life began, then and there.

Now my heart is getting restless,
Longing for the day he'll come.
When we've fought the final fight,
And our faith has been made sight,
And we'll stand before the throne and hear Him say
Well done, He'll say well done.

Then and there, settled and done
    Then and there, victory won
No more pain and no more fears
No more death and no more tears
No more walking through the night
For the Lamb will be the light
No more sin and no more burdens to bear
New life began, then and there
