My name is sharon and I am 60 years old. I have advanced stages of diabetes and other medical concerns and want to improve my life. I have lost 110 pounds in the last 1 1/2 years but still have 50-60 more to go. I need help. I would love to correspond with anyone, any age. I would like to hear from other diabetics and how the are doing on their weight loss and any complications they have. I would also like to correspond with other grandmother who want to be around to see their grandchildren grow. I have 5 from age 16 to 7 and they are the love of my life.

I'M BACK.....After a few years absence I have returned to Sparks. I have divorced my huband and have moved to Palm Coast, Florida, I am happy here and feel much better about myself.

My Program:
I am going to eat between 1100 - 1400 calories a day. Drink 14-16 glsses of water a day. Eat plenty of fresh or frozen fruits and vegatables. I will only eat whole grain breads and pastas, and eat 3-6 ounces of protein a day. I am going to follow in YOU ON A DIET exercise plan with some SP exercises as well. I on going to think only positive thoughts about my life style change program..

Personal Information:

Other Information:
My goal in life is to help people who are less fortunate than myself. I am disabled but volunteer with Alzheimer patients 3-4 days a week. I like to read but have a difficult time remembering all that I have read so sometimes that is a difficulty. I like to scrape book the lives of my children and grandchildren, so that they will have something to remember me when I am gone. I want to be a significant person in their lives even when I'm gone. Anything else you would like to tell people. Could include things like your favorite books or movies, a quote, anything.

Hello. I was browsing , and came across your page.
I wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to "OVERCOMING OBSTACLES".
At first, it was for people with a disabitliy, but now it's expanded to everyone..disability or none.

The link is located on my sparkpage, and the main discussion room is marked with "sticky topic".
People post their successes in life, motivation , advice, different health obstacles, parents' topics, different age rooms, losing baby fat, books insight, crafts, literary, recipes, jokes.etc etc etc...(well, let's just say, there is something for everyone to take comfort in).. There are many little challenges posted , on "Tickle*me*Pink 's" sparkpage, if you are up to them..(she is the team leader, and also my wife)

I was hoping that you will click the link, join the group, & maybe share some of your own successes, obstacles, goals, etc..for us to all get aquainted, better. As you read some of the posts in there, you will see some amazing accomplishments, before and after joining sparkpeople. Spark coach Jen is a member of our team, also, and is willing to help everyone.

    We hope to welcome you!
(my wish is that everyone on sparkpeople has a place to meet.(.wether they attend to other groups, that's always okay)..but I feel it is important that there is a place like that.. this is why I'm so THRILLED TO INVITE YOU TO "O.O."
PLEASE feel freeee to invite your friends in with you.
.. You're in the right place & no matter where we're from, what religion we are, etc etc etc... the OO forum is just like an extended family.

    Jack
