I chose my screen name when I looked in the mirror and could not believe it was me, down over 80 pounds after years as an overweight kid, teen, adult. I felt like a miracle! Now I just see me, a me that must keep tracking and working to control my weight so that small gains don't become a trend. Worth the work? Absolutely.

My Goals:

* Focus on eating sensibly, healthy foods enjoyed with dignity.
* Keep on running for fun and fitness! Enjoy any age group awards without stressing for them.

Current PRs:
.5 Mile=4:01 (12/21/13)
1 Mile = 8:47 (4/13)
5K = 27:33 (4/13/13)
10K = 1:01:13 (3/16/13)
HM =2:26:02 (11/24/13)


My Program:
Clean SWEEP:

Clean = eat with dignity
S = 7-8 hrs sleep
W = 8 glasses water
E = eat healthy
E = exercise 6 times/wk
P = persistence






Personal Information:
70 years old, almost 5'6", maintaining around 135 pounds. Retired social worker-grant writer-nonprofit administrator. One adult daughter. I keep my two darling granddaughters 6 days a week when my DD & DSIL work. Weigh less right now than I did in junior high. Have struggled with weight all my life. Maintenance is still challenging, but I'm definitely not giving up!!


Other Information:
You don't have to be perfect to succeed, but you do have to be determined. Never, never, never give up!

    I go to a wonderful medical massage therapist in Lakeland. I've been going to her for about 16 months now and she really knows her stuff. I buy bundles of 6 massages at a time. I usually go once a week because of my spinal issues. I enjoyed meeting you this morning and look forward to walking with you again!

    welcome to our polk county team! the more the merrier!!! No, you do not have to register for our walks. Sadly to say, lately we have only been having around 4-5 people participating! We would LOVE for you to join us! We have been having the walks once a month on a Monday for those who can make it during the week and once a month on a Saturday for those who work during the week. We have TRIED to accommodate everyone yet, they still find excuses not to walk....maybe that is why they are still overweight??!! Anyway, we have been meeting in the parking lot of the Lakeland Public Library on Lake Morton. We park on the north side of the parking lot, near the trees. If we know that you will be there then, we will be looking for you!!! Our next walk will be Saturday, November 7th at 9:00 a.m.. It usually takes about 20 minutes for the first lap and approximately 45 minutes if we decide to take 2 laps. Each lap is 1 mile. It is shaded, centrally located, sidewalks and lovely swans and ducks for the scenery.

    You are more than welcome to bring friends, spouses or family members. The Saturday walks always have more participants than the weekday ones since more friends and family members join in. We are looking forward to meeting you!

    We also have a monthly "dinner" get together. This month it will be a the "Grass Roots" on South Florida Ave. just north of Ariana Blvd. It is at 7:00 p.m. and here again, spouses and friends are welcome. This usually only lasts about 1 hour. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions!! Hope to meet you soon!!! Theresa
