"Get Up and Finish What You Started!" Never give up...
This journey has been a challenge and also a fantastic trip! Day by day my body is transforming into the new me I want to be. Can't wait to do all the things I thought I couldn't do. One day at a time I am getting stronger and stronger. I am so happy to make these changes and am anxious to lose 100 pounds. I have more to go after that but that would be a great accomplishment!

Update 4/9/2012- After taking a 6 month detour from weight loss from October 2011 to March 2012 and gaining 35 pounds back, I have come back to Sparkpeople to START AGAIN! This journey is lifelong and I am thankful to Spark for making it easy to just get back on the train and picking up where I left off. My page still here waiting on me. The picture of me on the bridge to the left was taken in October 2011. That is essentially about the time I took my detour. Life was crazy, added a part time job to my already FULL schedule of homeschooling, church Pastor's Wife, Host Team Director etc and just could not keep up. Started eating late at night after getting off work at 10pm then not having time to go to the store to buy healthy stuff...It was not a good situation. Irony is that I was working at the YMCA! The more I worked there, the less I worked OUT there! The more I gained weight! So now, I am back at home again and back on track working OUT at the YMCA!

A little about me. Grew up in Northwest Oklahoma on a farm. Graduated from High School in 1989 and then spent the next 6 years in college getting my Master's Degree in Psychology. After college, moved to Stillwater Oklahoma and lived there until meeting the love of my life. In 1998 we got married and started a church in Northern Missouri. In 2001 we moved back to Oklahoma to be closer to family. In 2005 we adopted our three beautiful children.

Since becoming a Christian at age 10, Jesus has been a central part of my life. Don't get me wrong, I've had my years of straying but have always come back and thankful for God's Mercy.

I have been overweight most of my life. Always bigger than the other girls in my class. Have always been told I had "a beautiful face" but struggled with insecurity my whole life because of my body. I Dealt with a lot of rejection and Was never athletic due to severe asthma and allergies. These health problems caused it to be difficult and painful to breathe when exercising. As a child it just reinforced my disinterest in physical activity.

I have tried dieting many times from low fat to low carb to weight watchers to TOPS to prescription diet pills to pills thru the mail. Have lost up to 60 pounds several times using diet pills but always gained it back plus more. Feelings of failure permeate this area of my life.

Over the Holidays (November/December 2010) I really got into the whole baking goodies thing. My weight continued to climb and I felt worse and worse. When I looked at the pictures of me over Christmas (2010) i just felt so discouraged. I could not possibly have gotten to this point! When did I lose all hope?

That's when I got back on Spark after a year and a half of not being on it. I started reading blogs of people who had lost over a hundred pounds. I was so inspired by these people who thru much effort and courage did what seemed impossible to me. After a couple of hours of reading, a small "spark" started to ignite in me that maybe just maybe I too could try again.

I started by exercising a little, starting on the fast break part of the Spark diet. Then at church I heard about the "Daniel Fast" I started this and stayed on it for 7 days. It was very difficult and restrictive yet God helped me and I learned a lot about myself and my eating habits during that time. I prayed and worshipped God in my quiet time and God infused me with hope and power like I had not felt in years.

I then started phase 1 of the Spark diet and watched my calories. I also excersised daily for 30 minutes and drank only water. I quickly started losing weight.

I'm on this journey for good. Going to log in and track my calories and fitness even when I mess up. Going to hook up with others who have succeeded before me. Can't wait to post some updated pictures of me once I have lost my first 40 pounds. (DONE 4/2011)

Would love to meet some friends on Spark to build a solid support system.

Oh, and I home school our three beautiful kids and sell Scentsy products. I am also the Host Team Director at church and of course, the Pastor's Wife. I love my life and want to be here for my kids when they get married and have kids of their own.

Nutrition Program:
Dukan Cruise Phase
--3-4 days a week pure protein.
--3-4 days a week protein and veggies.
--2 Tablespoons Oat Bran Daily
--8 + glasses of water a day.
--Random Cheat Meal

Exercise Program:
--Swim 1/2 miles a day
--Water Aerobics after
--Randomly add my foot cycle, walking, and strength training with resistance bands.

I am a stay at home mom. My three kids are home schooled. I am a Pastor's Wife. I have a Master's Degree in Psychology and worked in the field for 15 years.
