I'm a runner girl :)
When I started this journey three years ago, I topped the scale at 231 pounds. I've now lost over 100 pounds and am happily in maintainance mode. I've come a long way from that shy, fat girl who once was. I became a runner last year. I've done 5Ks, 10Ks, races in between and will be completing my first half-marathon in the fall. I continue to challange myself and to always strive for more. There isn't anything I won't try and there's nothing I can't do. I said I would do a pull up by the end of the summer and I did. I believe in myself. Do you believe in you? If you don't, this is where you start. Right here. Right now. Good luck. You can do it too!
The following is my favorite quote from a running magazine:
"Being a runner is about having heart. Neither speed nor distance count for much, they are just measure of genetics and training. Having heart is about doing it, doing it when it is hard, doing it when you do not feel like it.
The reward is those magical runs where everything works and you suddenly find you are just floating and the world is spinning beneath you."

I too am a runner and you are so right. Believe in your ability and remember when you feel like not running those are the days when something special happens during your run.
