I lost weight 3 years ago the old fashioned way, counting calories on Sparkpeople. I craved the entire time, then gained it back and then some. May 2, 2015 I started Trim Healthy Mama. As of today, May 15, I've lost a few pounds. More importantly, I've lost my cravings - even when I taste carb & fat ridden foods.
-------------------------
Update on May 8, 2016 - I lost 18 pounds while following THM principles over several months, fell off the bandwagon, but only gained 3 pounds back. Not bad. I'm back on the THM plan and plan to keep going.
--------------------------

Other goals I want to do at a lower weight:
Hike the Blue Beaver Trail up Lookout Mountain.
Spend a night at the Hike-Inn.
Swim with the manatees in FL.
------------------
May 2019 - The weight I lost in 2016, I've gained back. I'm working on weight loss again, and I've lost 10 pounds over 3 months, 5 in March, none in April, 5 in May. I really think 3 to 5 pounds a month is realistic for me.

Oct. 2019 - I've lost 23 pounds since March, average loss is 3 pounds in a month. I try to walk 20 minutes a day, mostly I do. And I do not stay perfectly on my plan.

My eating plan: Using the Sparkpeople suggested diet for my age, height & weight. Most lunches are a Premier Shake with a dark chocolate bar of 150 calories in the afternoon. Mostly avoiding processed foods, but no banned foods.

------------------
June 2021 - I was more off the bandwagon than on it for weight loss in 2020. I had lost about 30 pounds, gained around 10 back. I am currently aiming to eat within my calorie range each day and exercise at least some each day. The 100 DWL team is very helpful in going thru the book "100 Days of Weight Loss" by Linda Spangle. Right now I'm 6 pounds into the obese category, so I'm working to get back down to overweight.

Personal Information:
I live on top of a mountain, am married, and have a 21 year old son.

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. Thank you for your comment on by blog about "stay at home " order. I love Starbucks and use to hang out there six days a week. Now they are in my city only order, get it and go. I have slacked off on getting my iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade.

Happy Friday! It's the beginning of a long holiday weekend, and one we as Americans love to celebrate - Independence Day. It is sad that this term is now used infrequently. Why not remind others what the celebration is all about? People have forgotten what 4th of July really is about. It's not just another day for cookouts, fun, and fireworks. Our July 4th commemorates what our ancestors fought for, and the freedom(s) that we have, and use everyday. It's not fireworks and parties. That's just what makes it fun. Wish all your friends and family "A Happy Independence Day", and help them remember, too!

I'm hoping I can fire up your enthusiasm for some holiday fun with these hot jokes. I hope you'll get a real bang out of them!

emoticon What kind of tea did the American colonists want?
    Liberty!

emoticon Did you hear the joke about the Liberty Bell?
    It cracked me up!

emoticon A battery and a firework were arrested.
They charged one, and let the other one off.

emoticon Which colonists told the most jokes?
    Punsylvanians!

emoticon What's red, white, and blue and likes to wave?
    The American flag.

This one will crack you up. . .
emoticon How come there are no knock knock jokes about America?
    Because freedom rings!

emoticon Why did the colonial doctor give America a clean bill of health?
It had a good, strong constitution.

emoticon What did the little firecracker say to the big firework?
    Hi Pop!

emoticon What would you get if you crossed a patriot with a very classy, curly-haired dog?
    A Yankee Poodle Dandy.

I hope you didn't find any of these jokes to be flame-outs or real duds!
Enjoy your weekend and keep freedom ringing! emoticon
