HI TY TY For asking more about the 5% Challenge. Many of us are over 60 some are over 70 and we even have some in their 80s. It is harder in some ways to lose weight after 50, but yet, in other ways it's easier. If you are retired or working part time it's even easier in a way, not in another. When I am at work, i do not have the time that I would otherwise to eat. Oh,I DO Eat at work (foster grandmother at a local city school with the 2nd grade). But when I am off,,, it's also easier in that I have more choices of what to eat, or NOT to eat, by being tempted by things others bring in.

The 5% Challenge is a mixture of ages, but quite a few over 50 so we can and do relate. In general the first week,, we work on drinking water (so many struggle horribly with this, but we have hints/links on the first post of the week (That'll make more sense once you join) on how to increase water intake,, on the 2nd week, we might work on tracking our food. Each week a healthy habit we work on (and the previous week one) so that if we already are good on one of these, another one we likely struggle at least a little with if not more. This week got most of us,, no evening eating of over 200 calories. What if we aren't able to achieve the weeks healthy habit? GREAT!! That's a goal to keep working on and we ALL have things to improve on,, so that's OKAY!! WOOHOO ON THAT!! We do count the intentional exercise daily we do. It helps your teams "air plane" to move 1 mile for each minute of exercise you do (each member is maxed at 120 mins a day) but for many of us when we first join we may do 10 mins a day or even 10 mins 3 times a week, and hey, tha'ts AWESOME!! Everyone starts some place.

Each of the 12 teams within the 5% Challenge has leaders who are very supportive of where it is we are at. The team members are also very supportive. Each team has a chat thread, though it's optional if you use it. Those who use it when an issue comes up, have that extra support.

I'm so thankful I was invited to this challenge years ago. I've gained back my confidence I had lost.

We'd love to have you. If you're interested please email me, you can leave a comment on my page, but it may take me a day or 2 to get to it.

TY TY TY TY for asking questions.
