After years of severe depression taking its toll on my health and well-being, I have decided it's time to fight back and regain my health, my self-esteem and my life. It seems that for most of my adult life, this has been the battle.

I am taking back control and I know the steps that I need to get back on track with better eating habits and regular exercise. I'm looking forward to seeing progress on the scale, but I am more excited about the other changes to begin, such as smaller clothes and being able to have a larger variety of stores to shop from. Most importantly, I want to feel better.

I am combatting the effects of depression, a sedentary job sitting in front of a computer, and the stress of being dissatisfied with my life. I find that exercise is a great way of managing my issues, and I always feel so much better after a long walk.

For the sake of my health I need to lose over 100 pounds, and I know that I have a very long way to go, but I am confident that I will be successful if I get back on track with the lifestyle changes necessary for better health.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 100 by July 1, 2018 and so far I am off to a pretty good start!

I aim to get in physical activity every day and maintain healthy eating habits that allows for a few guilt-free treats every now and then.

Ultimately, I aim to not only feel better, but to look better and FINALLY get to shop at "regular" stores and not be limited to the few, disappointing plus size options.


My Program:
I believe in a healthy balance of eating and exercise. I take long, brisk walks with my dog, train a little with some free weights and practice yoga, which I would like to increase the frequency of.

I have cut processed foods out of my diet and I am saving a fortune by packing my own lunch instead of hitting the local fast-food joints for lunch. I also feel much, much better!

I make sure that I am getting all of my nutrients, and try to get what I need from my meals, but I do supplement with a multi-vitamin as well as D3 and calcium.

I have cut out all soda and drink lots of water as well as fresh brewed green tea over ice.

So far I feel great!
