I'm back. I'm making progress.. I think. :)

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. ~Lao Tzu

It's time to consider that this journey isn't about losing weight, gaining weight, what not. It really is about getting healthy.

I want my weight to be less than it is. I actually feel ok about myself. I've learned to be less judgmental and more self-compassionate.

Trust me. Being kind to myself has help me make more progress than being cruel, judgmental and belittling. If that stuff worked, I'd not be here.

Less weight will mean that I will likely be able to ditch my blood pressure regulating medication.

Thinking like a thin person means that I need to practice thinking like one while I'm not one. By practicing thinking like one, those thoughts wire new paths in my noggin.

How many things do I do that are on autopilot? This is what makes change sometimes hard. Changing the habituated behavior that isn't working well with habituated behavior that does work better. Thinking like a thin person and acting like one will become autopilot if I practice it.

My Goals:
Track what I consume and how I exercise.

Train for the St. Jude Half Marathon in December. Do so in a manner which reduces likelihood of injury.

Get out of mind and into my body.

My Program:
My program is to eat reasonably and not restrict anything. If I want a cookie, I'm having a cookie then tracking it.

I aim to exercise consistently. I'm training for the St. Jude Half Marathon after I injured myself earlier this year. I've recuperated and am running without pain. I want to run smart.

I will continue working on my daily mindfulness practice.

I am working to get out of my mind and into my body via mindful awareness and to be real by telling people what I really think, in my own way, even if it makes them uncomfortable.

Personal Information:
I'm TzuZen (say it fast!).

I live in the Land of Elvis.

I run with my 14# running partner TJ. He's lost weight, too.

Good books to get out of your mind and into your body:
