About five years ago I lost weight on Sparkpeople, something I hadn't managed to do up until that point. During those five years I did a pretty good job of maintaining, helped in large part by the fact that I was a foodie urbanite with no vehicle and a love of walking, then I became an organic vegetable farmer who earned her awesome biceps award through hard work and more vegetables than I could count. Then after a stint in Asia, where the plant food is plentiful and the portion sizes are decidedly un-American, I moved back to my home and native land, some of the western-most West of Washington State and am now living the dream on a wee little farm in my kinda tiny house, teaching people about backpacking but driving EVERYWHERE and despising the gym, which is a half hour away. Gone are the days of making my own schedule to free up time for me to go to the good classes and the 11 hour physical days and now is the time of driving and sitting and catering to a husband who hates vegetables. Now is the time for CHANGE!

And while I learned so much on Sparkpeople the first time around, I miss the comradery and encouragement of my Sparkpeeps and have decided to dive head first back into this familiar pool. So Yes! Say Hello! Keep your eyes peeled for food blogs and stories about my chickens to come!

Fitness Minutes: 22,090

My Goals:
* Lose about 30 pounds

* Get my body baby ready (!!!)

* Figure out a non-gym fitness solution

* Live as close to zero waste as possible

* Grow and preserve most of my own food

* Write a book about my time farming

* Create, nurture, and grow my community

* Get a new job

* Eat less meat

My Program:
The first two weeks I'm going to focus on counting calories every day and tracking my fitness. Right now I'm highlighting planning and tracking, so it's getting meals ready ahead of time and forcing myself to go to the gym on the days I plan.

My Fitness for April and May:
*Track everything
* Walk 11,000 steps per day
* Go to the gym 2x per week (classes)
* Do two weights days per week at home.

My Food for April and May:

* Eat between 1300 and 1550 calories per day

* Eat 5 small meals per day

* Mostly plants but still get in my protein.

Personal Information:

* Cauliflower dipped in Green Goddess dressing

*ASPARAGUS!! Spargelzeit ist ganz nah!

What I'm spending my time on in April:

* Acquired 8 chicks and built a new mobile chicken coop

*Planted the first, second, and third rounds of super varied vegetables (around 65 varieties)

* Started a farming blog
