On Valentine's Day, we think of people who have cheered and encouraged us, who go out of their way to be kind and caring, who have enriched our lives just by being themselves. You are such a person. I'm so happy you're my friend

Meditation is challenging which is why most refer to it as a practise. It took me a long time to find my meditation groove. I figured out mostly through taking yoga classes years ago what I don't like about meditation. I don't like guided meditation because it never feels like I'm really unhooking from anything. It feels like someone keeps interrupting my meditation groove with their voice or story. So I tried other types of meditation I discovered along the way just by trying this and that. YouTube is a great resource. I was browsing the Apple App store, and found an app (called Oak) that I liked that contains many sounds to help one meditate, like rain on a roof top, or white noise for example. I settled on "cave water" and liked that pretty well until I discovered a loop of music on the same app called "Clarity" which really makes me swoon! I just adore that music and it sends me into a meditative state pretty quickly. It took me years to discover my groove, but in order to discover it I had to try many things, so don't give up! Meditating 20 minutes a day will rewire your brain in good ways and you will be able to handle stress more effectively too. P.S. I do not sit up to meditate. My yoga teacher said "comfort is king when meditating," so I lay on my bed, a blanket over me and my iPhone is beside me on the table with my app running and I have my ear buds in.
"Brain scans have shown that a few years of meditation make the brain bigger, expanding its essential parts and strengthening its connections. The practice has also been found to weaken the amygdala, the part of the brain that is responsible for negative emotions and the creation of trauma."
"Meditation is shown to thicken the pre-frontal cortex. This brain center manages higher order brain function, like increased awareness, concentration, and decision making. Changes in the brain show, with meditation, higher-order functions become stronger, while lower-order brain activities decrease."

Thank you Vicki. Yes I broke my walks up today. Was cold but beautiful this morning. I had to stock up at the store too. Hey I hope your foot is ok. I remember how you hurt it once before. Be careful out there.
Good job with those brownies, you are doing amazing
Have a nice evening Vicki, getting ready to have dinner but stopping by first.
