So it's January, 2017 and I am losing this time. I know, I know, I say that every time. But this time it's really happening! I am on day 15, have lost 10 lbs (again..lol) sitting at 228 lbs. and I can just feel it. I AM GOING TO DO IT THIS TIME!!! I am retired and have 3 dogs and walk with my 2 bigger dogs for hours outside, rain, shine or snow. I go on the treadmill and I have stopped drinking wine all together. I wish I could just cut down, but now know that is not an option. 6 months from now, June 1, 2017, I will be at my goal weight of 155 lbs! Just watch me!

June 17, 2016 I just turned 58 years old a couple of days ago. I am still overweight sitting at 228.4 lbs today. But I have lost 10 lbs in the past 8 days. I went for bloodwork since we are going on a cruise on June21st and wanted to get it over with. The results were very bad. Blood sugar at 7.0 Triglicerydes a 1.77 (should be lower that 1.71) Liver and kidney function not very goo and even low platelets (140). I decided right then and there to change my lifestyle....so I am drinking lots of water, cut way way back on wine consumption. Not eating bread or pasta. Eating 3 meals a day consisting of protein (I'm a vegetarian, so eggs, fish, beans, yogurt, cottage cheese), vegetables and a small amount of fruit. Walking the dogs briskly at least 3 times a day and trying to get on the treadmill and lifting some weights. I am hoping this works. I am going on a European cruise for over 2 weeks, so that will slow down my journey, but I am confident this time that I will stick to it and will slowly but surely get healthy. So excited and feeling great!

Friday, September 20/13
Well my life has changed a great deal in the 2 years since I have been here last. I retired from my full time job and just work part-time now. I baby sit my granddaughter quite a bit on my days off. I am at 227 lbs...which surprisingly is down 12 lbs from where I was in April/11. My part time job is quite physical, so I am getting in some exercise. I am now 55 years old. I have no time limit really to lose the weight, no goal, like my daughter's wedding last time. So it is going to be a little harder this time.

Well, if I was ashamed last June...then now I am mortified, because I now weight 238 lbs...will it ever stop..lol!! I am not looking back, only forward and one day at a time! Tired of feeling 80 years old when I am only 52! My 85 year old mother is in better shape than me! I want to do things, not sit on my butt because I am too tired, too fat and too lazy to get up!! Happy Spring everyone and here's to feeling better and to getting up off that couch and moving!!

Well, I am ashamed to say...I am back at 223lbs. It has been a year since I started my weight loss. I lost over 40 lbs. and now I have gained it all back!!
So, it's time to start again. This time I am going to change my lifestyle. I am not going to lose weight for a specific event (and then regain). I am not going on a diet to lose weight. I am changing my life and the way I percieve it. I am not going to live to eat. I am going to enjoy each day, get active, get off my butt and live!!

This is truly the hardest battle I have ever had to fight. I am still sitting at 204-206 lbs. After getting down to 184lbs. in Oct./09, I have been steadily going up from there. I joined the 8week battle this week, and am heading to the Drs. tomorrow(haven't been in a couple of years) so I am hoping that things will turn around. I am also joining a 'Lifestyle Challenge' at work, which involves a 3 month membership to a very nice gym, a personal trainer, info sessions and a weight loss challenge with prizes at the end. We'll see where this takes me...hopefully back to the 180's where I felt fanastic...not liking being back in the 200's!!!

This month has been a wash.. up and down the scale and now sitting at 190lbs. (Looks like I am going to have to do the week 3 consequence) I swear I can lose and gain 5 lbs in a day or two!! I have to recommit to do this thing! I can see in my face that I am gaining, and I DON'T LIKE IT!! I am going to go out and buy a webcam, and start a video journey of my daily journey. It seems to work for other people...so I am going to try it!! I have to start tracking my exercise and food again (slacked off big time in the past couple of weeks). I am still hoping to lose that 15 lbs by Christmas (5 weeks)!! and I'm going to start drinking my green tea again when I get those cravings!! Thanks for all the support SP friends!!

Update..Oct.10/09 :
I have now been on this journey for almost 4 months! I feel like I have come to a crossroads now that my daughter's wedding has passed, and I reached a mini goal...down 42 lbs for her wedding with a weight of 183.4 lbs!! I felt so good and danced all night, without the jacket!!
Now it is a week later, and I have gained back 6 lbs already, and I have to get myself in gear once more to continue this journey!
At the beginning I was trying on 18s and 20s and they were too tight. I am now in 12s & 14s and it feels fabulous...so why am I sabotaging myself?!? I don't know, but I want to find out and I want to continue and lose another 40 lbs to finally get down to my goal!! I am darn well going to try my hardest to get there! I am starting Battle #6 on Monday, Oct12/09 and hope that sparks my determination again!! Gotta keep going with this thing and keep remembering how good it feels to look in the mirror and actually like what I see!!!

Update Sept.19/09:
2 weeks to my daughter's wedding, and while I have not reached my goal, I have lost almost 40 lbs, and hopefully will make it an even 45 lbs lost by Oct.3/09!! I feel better, I look better, I have more energy and I even wear sleevless tops in public (never ever would have done this before..lol) I have had to get my gown for the wedding taken in twice already and maybe once more before the wedding..YEAH!! I know now that I will continue on with this journey until I reach my goal, which I changed from 150lb-145lbs. I am more social now and realize that I was hiding from people, never wanted to go out, most of the time would rather sit with a bag of chips and a bottle of beer and watch TV, but now I am raring to go!!! I would much rather go out and socialize with people than stay at home! I will reach my goal this time (I never have in the past) and I will stay at goal for the rest of my life!!! I am one happy camper!!!

June 15, 2009:
My name is Wendy, I am 51 years old and I am overweight.
Kind of feel like I am standing up at an AA meeting..lol!
Anyway, I quit smoking 20 years ago and gained 60 lbs within the first couple of years and have never been able to take it all off. I lose 30 lbs, and then gain back 35! I have joined WW/ WW online, and done countless diet books. My daughter is getting married in October, and though I was planning to start my weight loss journey in January, it is now June...but better late than never! A woman at work, who has lost over 50 lbs told me about this site, and the same day I joined. I love this site so far, and I am really trying hard. I tried on MOTB gowns on Saturday, and almost cried when I went to a regular store that had tons of beautiful gowns, but the largest size (18) was too small! Couldn't even get the zipper up all the way. Sooo here I am, and this time it is a done deal, I am determined I am going to start living my life, not sitting on the sidelines, worrying what people think of me. I want to get up and dance at my daughter's wedding with a dress without the jacket!
Here we go, hopefully with a lot of support along the way....I can do it!!!

My Goals:
I want to get healthy, first and foremost, as heart attacks and strokes run in my family. I also want to look good at my daughter's wedding, so I can look back at the pictures and be proud of how I look. Although I know I will not get down to my goal weight, I would like to lose 30-35 lbs by the wedding in October! It is doable!

So I hit my goal for my daughter's wedding...and now I must make a new goal. I am back at it as of January 5/10. I have gained 20 lbs back of the 42 lbs I took of last year, so now I must relose the weight again!!

June7/10 223 lbs

My Program:
I am eating 3 meals a day, and 1-2 snacks. Tracking everything I put in my mouth. Drinking 8 glasses of water, and walking 1-2 hours a day, either outside or on my treadmill. Doing some sort of strength training 3 times a week.
