Well the doctor says loose weight, quit smoking, and get your blood pressure back down or 10 years max is all you have. So here I am back to finish this thing once and for all. I have to or I may not get another chance.

One of the great lessons I've learned is to take personal responsibility. You can't change the seasons, or all the bad things in life, or other people. You only have control of yourself and to that end you should learn how to harness that control to it's perfection. Learn to control yourself and then no one and nothing else will make you feel out of control. It's a mission in life for me.

I'm in school finally. I spent the summer getting back in school and started in August. I was scared stupid but spit it the face of my fear and pushed on. After 20 years out of school I pulled a 3.94 my first semester. So I'm kinda proud and amazed, but it also taught me that when I face down the fear and put 100% in I can accomplish my goals. So now I want to apply that to the rest of my life. Courage isn't not feeling fear, it's pushing on in spite of that fear.

So I'm always rescuing someone or something, from cats and dogs to neighbors. This year is going to be the year to change that a little. This year my goal is to rescue myself... from health issues, from the rolls of fat that hide me and keep me from living my life, from the feeling that I must feel guilty if I take care of myself. My New Year Resolution is to learn to live in the moment. We can't change the past and unless it has a lesson to help us now let it go... The only affect we can have on the future is now this moment, worry won't change it. So my Resolution is to learn how to live in the NOW. What should I eat this moment, what should I do with this moment... not worry about loosing the 100 lbs, because if I do what I need to this moment and each moment that follows then the 100lbs will go away all by itself. Enjoy the moment... revel in your accomplishments but take the lessons and leave the failures in the past. That was yesterday and now is where I am.
