Looking for Hope in 2020
“What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

If you haven’t read Mary Oliver’s poetry, stop what you’re doing and go read her work.
I’ve been on this site a long, long time. Since it began. Still trying to lose those same pounds. Still unsuccessful. Telling myself, “Maybe this time will be different.” Hear the doubt in my own voice? I need to find some grit. I need to find some intestinal fortitude. I need to find ...

I’ve been on this site a long, long time. Since it began. Still trying to lose those same pounds. Still unsuccessful. Telling myself, “Maybe this time will be different.” Hear the doubt in my own voice? I need to find some grit. I need to find some intestinal fortitude. I need to find some moxie. I’m one of the most confident people I know, but it doesn’t help me with weight loss.
Knowing how to do a thing and doing the thing are not the same thing. That’s me and weight loss. My mother (yes, still living at age 93!) was a dietician. I grew up learning about a balanced diet and all about starches (they’re call carbohydrates now). No foods were off limits. The importance of portion control.
Actually, for my age, I’m in pretty good shape! No medications. Blood pressure is great.
If I friend you, it’s because I’m looking for folks active on this site to motivate me. Hopefully, I’ll do the same for you.
