Nordic Walking is a great exercise at this weight, but I lack motivation in the winter!

German food is delicious, the beer even better - a real challenge on a night out in Bavaria!

The me I still see when I look the mirror. Maybe losing weight will at least get me a little closer

My name is Genie, I live in Germany. Until 1998, I was in the Army and in great shape. Then I spent 18 months in New Zealand, where I became an excellent cook and gained 40 pounds. I came back to the U.S. and was diagnosed with PCOS, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Losing weight is a struggle, as is finding time and motivation to exercise. My husband and I want to take a motorcycle trip across the U.S. for our 10th wedding anniversary. I want to look good on the back of the bike and feel healthy for this trip.

My Goals:
To lose this horrible weight, of course! To de-stress, realize I'm not perfect, gain patience, wisdom and health for the long term.

My Program:
My mother and I are supporting each other. She only has 15 pounds to lose, but hopefully she'll stay as my battle buddy when she's met her goal. I like to nordic walk and use the Biggest Loser DVD for exercise. I eat the same breakfast and lunch, with fruit snacks.

Personal Information:
I'm a Georgia Peach living in Germany. My e-mail is zehlendorf1@hotmail.com. I love good red wine and enjoy cooking from scratch. My favorite stores involve cooking or books. I am an EBay junkie, currently in recovery.

Other Information:
My favorite book is Pillars of the Earth and other historical fiction. My favorite movies are The Wizard of Oz and the first Star Wars, now number 4 with a new name. I enjoy classical chamber music and opera, but listen to techno in the car.

If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
