I watch my sodium levels because of borderline high blood pressure. I use spices a lot more and use very little salt. I don't even use salt on my eggs. I use pepper and sweet basil when I scramble them and pepper when I boil them. I rinse canned vegetables to remove as much sodium as possible from them, then use other spices for seasoning. I like the taco seasoning recipe in the Spark Cookbook. I don't eating out because most of the fast foods have a high sodium content. Hope everyone is have a great week. Go Busy Bees!! 1132 days ago

Hello fellow Busy Bee. The sodium challenge is hard one for sure. I have over the years learned to do away with canned veggies big offender. I try to make my own seasonings or sauces that does give me more control over sodium level. Couple of things i do is make my on taco seasoning (chili powder, cumin, and tiny bit of red pepper flakes) family likes better than the store bought stuff and they don't even miss the salt. Another good substitution i make is for soy sauce which is very high is amino acids (also gluten free, soy has gluten) and it is 320 per teaspoon and I might use that much in whole recipe little goes a long way. Hope you are having a great week. 1133 days ago

For the Busy Bees cluster challenge this week we are supposed to write about if we watch our sodium intake, why or why not. I don't really watch my sodium intake, but I also don't add it to many foods that I eat. I know my DH often adds it to food at the table. I may season it a bit while I am cooking, but rarely add it at the table.
