Public Streaking Encouraged!!!

Wednesday, April 09, 2008

All my life I have allowed my stressed-out life and deadlines keep me from fitting in exercise. So, I have decided it is time for me to COMMIT to exercise. Today, I am starting a SMALL STREAK -- I am going to commit to walking 10 to 30 minutes each day... but that is not all...

(barring any physical hinderances):

One of my friends saw a video article about a woman who lost 120 pounds in 11 months. Here is what she did...
... she ate healthy and exercised. (Rats, no magic pill.)

She started out walking...
... and then she added running. 1st day she added 30 seconds of running, then added 30 seconds each day until she was running 20 minutes... by then she had lost 50 pounds.

I am going for it! Who is with me???

I am going to plug into the power of consistency. I am going to break my old habits by creating new ones through small actions over time. Consistency will help keep me motivated. And by committing myself to a Streak, I will begin seeing results again.

So here I go, committing myself to KEEP A STREAK ALIVE, for as long as I can. This action will help me build back the momentum and just think what it will do for my confidence!?!

    Streak!!!! Do it!!!

This really works. In a short time (3 weeks), I have gone from not being able to run at all, to running for 3 min. straight. My sister in law is a marathon runner. She says...keep your pace really slow... and focus on your breathing. Usually your lung capacity runs out b4 your legs give up. She was right, and by doing those two things, I have increased my ability in record time. I am doing 3 miles now, walking/running, 3x a week, and burning b/t 300-400 calories by running little "streaks". I think they are calling it interval training and there is a really good article about it in my favorites. Check it out if you are interested. Good luck and happy streaking!

Heh heh ... we encourage public streaking in 220-ville, in fact the more streakers the merrier! The cops look the other way, and no one is shocked when a streaker passes by ... this will be a part of the newly revamped 280-ville to come, so I think you'll find some takers there. I know some 210-villers and 200-villrse started their own threads to continue streaking on down the line. I know one person personally who was stuck at a plateau, and started this and it worked for her. She has shed 20 pounds since starting. And I think, what, has been streaking since December - just 10 minutes a day! iT WORKS!
