People are Starting to Notice (Finally!)

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

One of my frustrations has been that no one at my office has commented on my weight loss. I mean I've lost 25 pounds, like 15 percent of my body weight. Finally one person last week said "you look skinny today." I couldn't help myself and said something like "oh, as opposed to yesterday..." It's not like I suddenly lost weight one day. I've been working on this for almost 11 months!

But I got what I needed at the end of last week when I dropped by my old job (which I left just before I started losing weight--in fact my leaving that job is what allowed me to make progress on my weight loss) to eat cake (yes, the irony is that the following happened when I was struggling with my eating). Several people commented on my weight loss. Here are a couple of the memorable ones: "You look like you've lost a ton of weight." And when I mentioned to one person that I hoped to lose another 10 pounds, she said "Really? You look great now."

Just what I needed to rededicate to the home stretch!

emoticon Yeah, I don't get it with people not noticing. Some people say "oh my god, you look totally different" and others are clueless! Or maybe they just don't want to say anything.
It's as weird as women's sizes. Neither makes sense.
    Glad you got some compliments!
