Temporary Insanity

Sunday, September 07, 2008

This past week was a little stressful. Hubby had to go out of state, actually clear across the country, for his job. He left early Tuesday morning and returned on Friday evening. This has been his second trip there in a month. The first was during the first week of school for the kids.
So, I was on duty 24/7 for the kids with no backup. There were times I felt a little overwhelmed between homework, band practice, getting them up and getting them in bed on time and that's not counting all the mini-crises and drama that arises with pre-teens and teens. And I thought girls would be the drama queens. emoticon
I have nothing but praise for those who do this on a daily basis. You Are Super Parents!

During this time, I had a few stress eating bouts but it wasn't enough to do any real damage, thank goodness. I think I was just missing hubby and a little down time from everything, so I sought comfort in all the wrong places. Mainly my kitchen cupboards. emoticon

Now that he is back home, I have given up my little feeding frenzy.
I plead temporary insanity. emoticon

I always hated the jobs my husband had when he would travel. I can really sympathize with you. I'm glad you were able to keep things under control, under the circumstances, and not let the eating get really out of control. It would be a shame to do all that hard and then go backwards. emoticon
