Start your future today

Start your future today! How many times have you heard that saying. We hear that in almost everything we do, from a new job, relationship, marriage, family, school, almost everything we do.
When I went for my gastric bypass surgery the doctor that was performing the surgery said those exact words to me as he entered the surgery room. I myself was thinking in a different way. I was scared I was not going to wake up. Even though every visit I had with him he told me to think very positive thoughts there were those negative ones in my mind. All I kept thinking was "Buddy your not fat like me. Your not going under the knife, trying to lose weight." He kept assuring me that he never lost a patient and was not about to start with me. Of course there I was saying to myself "Well buddy there's a first time for everything".
How do you start your future today with negative thoughts always pumping and flowing in your mind. There are always things going on around us that make things difficult. The world is in chaos and our economy does not look good so how can we start a future?
You start your future just as my doctor did on the days I visited him and the day that he did my surgery, in a positive way. As I sat around that day waiting to go into surgery, biting my nails and praying, I didn't think about nothing going on around me. Now when I think back at that day I have to think about some of that in a positive way. Even though on that day I was scared and thinking negative I was able to block out all that was going on around me. Now I take some of that into account. I can't let negative things that are going on around me destroy what I want for my future.
Starting each day with positive thoughts allows me to see my future in a positive light no matter what happens during the day. I just need to know that each day is going to be different and it is not to affect the way I think about how I am to start my future or the thoughts of my future.
So if your starting your future today start it with a positive attitude and a positive thought process.

I love this blog it speaks a truth we all need to be reminded of - I read somewhere that he it takes more effort to be negative, sad and depressed that it takes to be positive, hopeful and joyful. I believe in positivity - it makes life so much more pleasant. I'm happy that you made it through and are now able to convey those words to others.

Being positive is such an important tool, not only on this journey, but in life in general. I always try to find beauty where ever I am, no matter what, and stay positive. Why waste energy on negative thoughts - it's such a time waster (and a life waster) - especially when we don't have control of all situations. Thanks for sharing your post and reinforcing the power of positive thoughts.

I so believe in the power of positive thoughts. I love the phrase, "let virtue garnish your thoughts unceasingly." Virtue is anything praise worthy and of good report - and that includes me! Thanks so much for the reminder! emoticon
