May thoughts

Thursday, April 30, 2009

I have come up with a plan. Since I "was"feeling stressed (feeling better now) with all the housework and exercise that I needed to do in two hours a day that I had free (nap time for my son), I decided that I needed to do something to make life easier.

My plan emoticonis to exercise every other day. Why did I not think of this before? emoticonThat way, I can clean on one day and then exercise on the other day emoticon. This has worked out wonderfully!

Today, as I walked through the house and realized the the curtains needed to be put up in my bedroom, I said to myself, "you can do that on Saturday". Tomorrow is my exercise day emoticon.

My average work out days per month is usually 11 days. If I follow the every-other-day plan, then I would have 15 days of fitness this month. Gee...sounding better every minute! I also find myself working out a bit harder on the elliptical to make it count as I have a day to rest my legs. Even better.

I feel better and even got some much needed rest last night.

Wow... emoticonthis is great! I am going to make it to my goal! emoticon And it is because of all of you, dear Spark friends! Thanks for always being there!

    Christie,
it truly IS amazing at how just having a plan for the never-ending housework "sets you free". I did that with my upstairs/downstairs. Now, when I have to run upstairs for something and see all the mess, I can take a deep breath and just say to it: "take a number, your time is coming!" and walk away from the mess feeling in control. After all, it's not the chores that cause us stress damage...it's feeling overwhelmed with all those chores :0)... Enjoy your vacation...and don't let that stress creep back in when you're back to routine and feel so far behind. Just focus on "the plan" and let your body relax and enjoy what you're doing while you do it .

I take any excuse not to clean that I can get! It'll all be there...and believe me, a little (lot, in my case) mess is liveable when you're feeling good!

Christie - you sound like you have a plan that will work. and don't forget, some of that cleaning can be counted as exercise!!!! spark people lists "heavy cleaning" at over 300 cals per hour!
