Less Costs More but I'd Rather Save Calories than Save Money!

OMG! I never realized how we live in the days of upgrades and value value value until TODAY! Last night, I spent the night at a friends so I couldnt prepare my own breakfast before heading to the gym, so I called the nearest Denny's and ordered 2 scrambled eggs and 2 slices of bacon (a' la carte). The waiter told me "Maam thats going to be $5.17, for $6.48 you may as well pick 2 more items of your choice like sausage, ham, grits, pancakes, toast, anything you want."
"No Thanks sir."
"Maam, you are doing it the expensive way because....."
O mi gosh, why does it matter to you if I want to spend $5 on 2 items? I know you are doing your job but I declined so calm down!
So, I went to the gas station to grab a bottle of water before heading to the gym "Maam you can get 3 packs of these soft and chewy cookies for only $1, would you like some?" LOL, you've got to be kidding me?!?!
So I was sooo proud of myself for packing my gym attire to my friends house and heading over to the gym when he left for work, so after my work-out I did some shopping and went to the spa. I grabbed lunch on my way home, I wanted grilled meat from a bbq place and a salad. First of all, I ask "Sir do you guys have salad?"
"Potato salad but no green salad" he replied. (My thoughts: fine I can make one at home) Then, advertised on the menu was 3 meats and 2 sides for $8, I thought great I can eat half today and half tomoro. So I ordered the special but declined the sides and the guy told me "Well I have to charge you by the pound since you didnt get the special" So he charged me $12!! If I had of known that, I could have taken the deal and thrown the sides away in the parking lot LOL!!
Its just funny how there's a penalty for not taking advantage of VALUE! I never noticed until today. I haven't eaten out much in 2009. Back in the day I usualy said yes to "good deals." Temptation is literally around every corner!! But I'll just say "No thanks, don't upgrade me!!!" LOL
