Busy with life & lost from my goals.

I'm not completely sure how I've gone 3 weeks without a blog. I guess it says a lot about where I've been. Busy with life & lost from my goals. I'm not exactly back on track, but I'll get there. I had an epiphany come to me with the mail the other day. A package from Lane Bryant & a my first workout DVD from PUSH. Talk about living a mixed message.

Since my last blog a lot has gone on including but not limited to: a Stellate Ganglion Nerve Block, a visit to my pain/rehab doc, an MRI of my brain (long story - don't worry, not as serious as it sounds), my mom has had a biopsy to test for uterine cancer, my mom's 61st birthday, shopping trips for dresses for my sis's Senior Breakfast Dress & her Prom Dress, I made the jewelry for her Prom dress, my sister's Senior Breakfast - she was awarded Biggest Moocher, my sister's Powderpuff Football game - it ended in a tie, her Prom, I've been to a great seminar on Nursing, I've helped plan for a Nursing seminar on developmental care, my brother-in-law is out on his first truck driving job, my niece's fiancé lost his job & got a new one, a couple of trips to Scarborough Faire & two festivals to see my sis dance & of course taking tons pictures - until my camera died (not to worry it's being repaired). I also started a flickr account & am completely amazed at the number of views my pics have had in less than two weeks. The job I was applying for that would have gotten me back into the NICU has fallen through. I'm bummed, but something else will come along.

No wonder I'm sick: coughing up yellow-green stuff, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, headache, achy joints, & I've completely lost my voice. No it's not the flu. I got tested. Just a virus I have to wait out with help of Mucinex DM. Although, the doc gave me a prescription for antibiotics to fill if I'm not better by Monday.

Here's a pic of my sis in her prom dress & her date ( he's just a friend):

In last few days, I've come to realize my little sis has an unrealistic view of her body. Comments she's making about how fat she is & how she needs to loss weight. In fact, I took pics of her dancing recently where you could she her collarbone. Her dress for Senior Breakfast was a size 4 & it was a bit too big. We have discussed this before & I guess it's time to talk about it again. It doesn't matter what size we are, we are influenced by the medias unrealistic ideas of what a woman should look like.

Food for thought:
"The basic difference between an ordinary man and a warrior is that a warrior takes everything as a challenge while an ordinary man takes everything either as a blessing or a curse." - Carlos Castaneda

So, you've just been sitting around? emoticon (I hope you realize I am just kidding).

I hope you can get through to your sister. I am sure a lot of us can relate, looking back on pictures when we thought we were fat and clearly were not.

I think I may have seen your sister dance if she's at Scarborough.... I watched one of the belly dancing shows (May 2nd, I think) and the pic of her here looks familiar. :-)

I hope things slow down a bit for you soon dear.

    See you in Irving sparkers!

Girl you've been BUSY!! I'm sorry to hear that your NICU job fell through, but don't give up. It will come when the time is right.

Your sister sounds a lot like my oldest daughter. She is also a senior (just turned 18 on Friday) and has messed up body issues. She got down to where you could see her collar bone and ribs, so we had a very long talk with her and had a talk with her doc as well. She is doing much better now, and is a much healthier 135. I pray that your sis realizes how beautiful she is just the way she is. HUGS!

Love the quote! Stay strong dear friend, and keep climbing that mountain! Today's a great day to start fresh!!

    God Bless,
