Mirror, mirror on the wall....

emoticonI went to JC Penney to buy some new clothes for my new job which starts at the end of the month. To recap, I quit my beloved teaching job in Dec. 2007 when my son was getting very sick in day care. I had planned on staying home until he entered school, but with the economy, it was time to go back to work.

So...being home was hard. What do you do when you are bored? Eat. For me, it is snacking. Way too much snacking. emoticon

The mirror at JC Penney does not lie. What I saw there was actually a shock. It was literally like someone had taken my head and put it on someone else's body and that body was round and flabby and out of shape. Where did that large behind come from? Oh.... emoticon, I have been losing the same five pounds since January and now it is time to go to work...and in a size that I have never been before (that is not pregnant).

So...I believe being out in public will help me stay focused as wearing my pajamas to work is not an option emoticon. It is time for me to get healthy and use exercise as a way to deal with the stress.

I was very skinny when I left my job because I did not eat much from August through December, but even though I was wearing a size 10, I was not healthy. This time, when I slip on a pair of size 10 anything...I want to be toned and healthy and an example to others. Crash diets are not the answer....healthy living is.

So watch me change myself and become a new person...a fit and healthy person.

    I can SO relate to your post. One of the things that brought me here was that even my fat jeans are tight to the point of discomfort now. I was on sabbatical last year. I worked like a dog but mostly from home so I wore yoga pants for the better part of a very stressful year. NOT a good idea!!! I'm back in the office now and it's too hot for yoga pants even if they were appropriate. I guess we buy a few outfits so that we look decent (no point in compounding the problem by wearing things that are uncomfortable and unflattering). And we move on! You'll do great. I KNOW you will!

    Mirrors don't lie. I have been looking in mine and not like the body that is standing infront of me.

    You can't wear your pj's to work? Wouldn't we all like too. My goal is to get into the jeans I was wearing last October by the end of the year.

    Let's get going and lose the weight. We can watch it fall off as we runaway from it.

    Remember think before you eat. Drink water first to see if that was what you needed and not food. And don't forget to exercise. Just get it done each day and you will feel better about it and about yourself.

    This is the time to find the new me and for you to find the new you. We can do this. It won't happen over night, but it will happen.
