Aruba was absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous blue skies, crystal blue water, tropical breezes, oh my goodness!
The trip started out a little rough. I had an allergic reaction to something on the plane (possibly a new allergy to peanuts at 50 years old). I broke out in hives, itched like crazy and was swollen terribly. The stewardess called for medical assistance and I was treated on the plane but things only got worse once we landed. The hives were more intense and I ended up in the emergency room twice my first two days there. So much for an exciting 50th birthday. My blood pressure dropped to 97/65, I was dizzy, dehydrated and sick. On the 2nd day when my face, mouth (inside and out), ears and everything starting swelling, my husband called back home to my cousin who's a doctor and she told him to get me back to the hospital quick for a steroid shot because my throat could close in my sleep. My throat had gotten swore, I lost my voice and developed a cough. But God is faithful! They got the treatment right the 2nd time and my vacation got started on the 3rd day. God even sent a christian gentlemen (James Vernon) to lead us to a pharmacy late night so I could get my meds.
The rest of my trip was beautiful! I loved the atmosphere, the people, everything! I cannot wait to go back and enjoy an entire vacation there.
