My baby starts college in one week. He is going to stay home and go close by, all his friends are moving away this week to get setup at their college before classes start. I think his is getting lonely.

I hated it when my kids went away to school. I missed them terribly. My 2nd youngest moved home during her sophomore year and commuted. I loved it. She wasn't home a lot, but I loved knowing I would see her often. Now she lives far away and I miss her again. Don't worry about his being lonely - once school starts he will have more friends than he knows what to do with!....and you will get to see him as much as you need to.

Awwww. They grow up so fast. At least you will still have him around for a while. I hope my son makes the same choice. I already get scared at the thought of him leaving home. But I guess they have to sometime. Hopefully he will make some new friends that are close to home and he wont be so lonely.

Congratulations to your son for being accepted into the college or university. At least you will have him around for a while longer. When I started college I wanted to live away from home, be my own boss. I hope he likes college as much as I did.

That sucks...but generally in college you will meet new people and sometimes they end up being life long friends. The others friends will come around during breaks, etc...that's when he will truly enjoy the friendship or move on. Also, with today's technology, it's not hard to stay in touch. Not like when I was going to college...all you had was the regular phone. Cell phones where even really around, unless you wanted to carry that "brick," and internet wasn't even really out there to my knowledge.
