Letting too much get in the way of my health and fitness goals

I have had a really hard time getting back on track, since returning from the month long vacation. I haven't been on Sparkpeople in about a month and even then it was only a couple of times after vacation. I will be coming up on my one year anniv. of joining Sparkpeople in Sept. I don't want to undo my progress. I have gotten into the bad habit of HOURS on the computer. Not productive hours either, just mind wasting activities. I hadn't been to the gym in three or four weeks at all. You know once you stop doing something daily, it is very easy to get out of the habit. My weight is starting to climb up again. I don't want that to happen. I am going to start journaling my journey to fitness. I will be doing that somewhat privately, but I do know that I need to have support here so I will be back daily for that support.

    You can do it. You can get back on track and achieve the goals you set for yourself. After a months vacation earlier this year I had a hard time getting back into it as well. I decided I had worked too hard to not get back on track and I am glad that I did.

    Whatever works for you - you must do. Journaling is a popular method, so give it a go.

    I must admit, sp threading etc can be addictive! I personally pop on several times a day for a few mins, to keep up with new incomings, then in the evenings for about an hr - this I use as my incentive instead of the 'going to WW or SW or the Gym' If I went to any of these clubs I would be a way from home for an hr, so this is my equivalent!

    However, I only belong to 4 Teams and I'm an active part of those! I don't have the time to 'belong' to so many Teams and most of them don't fulfil my needs either. so chose your Teams carefully. Thats a timesaver in itself!

    My biggest need is the friendships, given and received so that's usually what I'm up to in the evenings.

    Do you have a Diary, plan your workouts as if they were appointments for your time - respect your time and keep your appointment!

    Take one day at a time and start building up those habits. It will eventually become a daily thing again. And what a great tool to have in journaling, you can just give us the highlights from time to time. You will also be able to look back on it later and see where you have been. It will encourage you and give you strength to continue. Keep us posted.
