I Forgot My Lunch This Morning At Home

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

I had prepared the best lunch. Lettuce, chunks of carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes.
I put a Tbs. of Ranch in a snack size ziploc and then I can cut the corner and pour it onto the salad. My students say it looks like frosting.

I had an ounce of almonds. And a sweet and juicey white peach.

I put it in a lunchbox with an ice pack.

And when I arrived at work I realized I had left it behind in the kitchen.

I called my son and asked if he could drop it off on his way to school. He said he had already left. I said, "Remember all of the times I went back home to get you something you forgot?"

I figured he wouldn't be able to bring me my lunch but several minutes later he walked in and dropped off my lunch.

"Here it is," he said, rather impatiently.

"Thanks!" I said, rather guiltily.

So, now I am enjoying my delicious and healthy lunch. Thanks to my son. I'm going to try not to do that again!

Last week, I was very scatterbrained. Forgetting my breakfast, forgetting my lunch, forgetting my meds... it's nice that your son brought your lunch to you.

I had to laugh! It must have been leave-your-lunch-at-home-day yesterday. I delivered lunches to 3, yes 3, of my family. DH walked off without his at 7:30, DS left without his at 7:45 and DD left hers behind at 8:00. So from 9-9:15 I ran my own personal lunch delivery service.
They were all more careful today!

I forgot my lunch today too. My co-worker went to Carl's Jr and volunteered to pick up something for me. I ended up eating 1/2 of a BBQ Chicken Sandwich.

Basically, I no longer eat off the dollar menu, but go for the healthiest non-salad item the fast food place serves.
