Neither a Borrower nor a Lender be...
Thursday, August 27, 2009
While I've long been a Shakespeare fan and do enjoy "Hamlet", this line from Polonius to his son Laertes is, to me, complete crap.
My neighbour and I are often lending and borrowing from each other, and have developed quite a close relationship with our exchanges of eggs, cups of flour or sugar, and small favours.
Here on SparkPeople, too, I have been borrowing for over two years and only good things have come from it. You might wonder when we exchanged baking supplies through the Internet connection, but I do not refer to tangible items. I borrow emotional support and strength from the Spark Community. and while I've never received sugar from any of you, what you do offer is much, much sweeter.
Whether I'm going through tough times in 'real life' ( I still remember every goodie gift of flowers and hugs, the positive thoughts, candles lit, and prayers offered when Bryan was in the hospital!), I've fallen off the wagon and need a good swift
to get back on track, or want to share some small success, you guys are always there for me and I truly appreciate it.
I've said before that I would never have reached my first weight loss goal without the SP trackers. This is true, but honestly, I wouldn't still BE here if it wasn't for my sparkfriends. Thank you all. You're terrific lenders and I just hope that I am able to offer you a fraction of the support and encouragement you have given me.
