The Arizona Republic Must Be

In Feb. I have my students make Yankee Doodle Hats from the newspaper. You remember those hats you make out of folded newspaper?
Anyway, I don't get the paper but our librarian puts the Arizona Living section and sometimes the local section in my mailbox at school after she reads it.
Today I opened the newspaper and was surprised at how narrow it is getting. I've noticed over the years that newspapers are "dieting". I've had to change the way we make the Yankee Doodle Hats. Now, it is so narrow I don't know what I'm going to do.
I know newspaper publishers are having a tough time of it with more people using the internet to get information. I hope to never own a Kindle. I want to read novels made of paper, not read from a screen. I will be sad if the newspaper businesses fold. I grew up watching my parents read the paper. My mom still reads her town's weekly paper from cover to cover. She trades it with my sister-in-law who gets the other paper. Yes, a small town with 2 newspapers. And they are both very good papers.
